just learned the name Salome is שלם, which is to say its not "Salo-may" but Shalem or Shalom (or Shlomit or Shlema) and variants on Shelamzion account for a solid quarter of the female names attested to in Greco-Roman Palestine

"When you strike The Frog with pepper balls, it [splits into a swarm of frogs or calls up all the other frogs in the land]."

There's some debate over the text. 🤣🐺

Jewsky is having a blast with the plague of frogs-- we already loved to joke about the rabbinical interpretation that suggested there was only one frog until the egyptians hit it and it multiplied,,,

i agree with skillet unironically and think she should get everything she wants. It's also cool how she [spoiler] a whole mushroom, and I think we should all emulate her

Increasingly hard to ignore the fact that a significant number of people on this site think that the US should be some penitent/martyr-state kept in a permanent immiseration by the priest-theorist class for its corrupt original sin.

Romance author best known for "The Love Hypothesis", a former Reylo AU about enemies-to-lovers grad students (iirc). Her most recent book is a hetero werewolf romance, which makes the dedication being J2 and Wincest authors even better
challahchic.bsky.social
My opinion on Ali Hazelwood has gone up several notches for giving Wincest and J2 fic authors flowers in the dedication of her werewolf novel
tillywizard.bsky.social
I know I complain about her books being the most tamest training wheels versions of problematic tropes that won’t scare the hoes

but dedicating your mega bestselling novel to (in)famous dead dove rpf incest shippers who have endured years and mountains of anti bullshit is 👑 Queen behaviour

How do I explain to offline people that my favorite Japanese mascot said "we can only be liberated from queer oppression if we are truly seen as human" and then started wielding fireworks like a rocket launcher on the side of a mountain without sounding like I've totally lost it?

Chiitan has a dream.
I hope that one day the term LGBT will become a thing of the past.
I will continue to spread my message until we live in a world where everyone can love freely and is free from persecution and discrimination.
Until then, let's all support each other🤍

The dysgraphia was the most visible of my problems. I lucked out that my mother’s response to “they have anger issues” was “what is happening to make them angry”, and then got me checked for learning problems instead of punishing me

Also I’d rather have shit emotional regulation than polio
challahchic.bsky.social
It requires accepting that you can have a fulfilling life without being an exemplar of straight neurotypicality, the fear of which seems to be creating a lot more anger and fear than i would have expected
challahchic.bsky.social
I’ll never forget the kids librarian who looked utterly scandalized when I said I was autistic bc I ”don’t act like” the autistic kids in her special ed classes

lou, I am a middle aged professional diagnosed with learning disabilities not an 8 yo school child with no emotional regulation
theferocity.bsky.social
I don’t exactly how to phrase this, but like… is autism that bad???? Like, why is it such a source of fear??? Of course there are challenges but you can be autistic and have a rich, fulfilling life! Many people do! I don’t understand the preoccupation.

oh we are absolutely not bringing back Lavender Marriages, what the fuck is wrong with folks. Also this couple looks like they waited until their wedding day to have their first kiss lol
kebrightbill.bsky.social
No, WaPo, we are not doing a repeat of creating social pressure for gay people to get straight married, and no, it's not, "redefining what it means to be in a relationship."

Also, could that kiss in the thumbnail be any more awkward?
He’s gay. She’s straight. They’re happily married.
Meet the couples who are redefining what it means to be in a relationship, including those in gay-straight and same-sex platonic marriages.

Is it really strange to read books on a lightweight, easily carried item that contains several hundred books that I can modify the font and readability of and connects to the audio versions?

sis, take it from a librarian-- this is a bad argument
