The dysgraphia was the most visible of my problems. I lucked out that my mother’s response to “they have anger issues” was “what is happening to make them angry”, and then got me checked for learning problems instead of punishing me

Also I’d rather have shit emotional regulation than polio

I don’t exactly how to phrase this, but like… is autism that bad???? Like, why is it such a source of fear??? Of course there are challenges but you can be autistic and have a rich, fulfilling life! Many people do! I don’t understand the preoccupation.
