Another article that fails to talk about COViD being predominantly airborne and just focuses on handwashing only. Also again, no mention of #PostInfectionRisk. This is not a normal situation to be failing to prevent airborne infections.

This is v interesting, especially as someone who grew up near there, and knew about the scale and teamwork involved.
But I don’t like all that “boffin” stuff for Turing. He was maligned enough in his lifetime, no need to play off individuals against each other to show it was a huge, complex task.

Each surface trembles as if beneath it, something vast and unseen squirms and breathes. The charm is alive here, a sentient fluid that remembers older, wetter worlds. It seeps between pixels, whispering through the code in languages not meant for lungs.

It pulses beneath the menus like veins beneath translucent flesh, its rhythm too steady to be human. Sometimes the charm glistens with a light that isn’t reflection, a phosphorescent shimmer like the soft wink of something watching from the dark. When you play, it reaches back — not maliciously, but hungrily — tasting you through the buttons and wires.

And when you close it, you’ll feel it still. In your fingertips. In your teeth. In the soft, wet corners of your dreams.

I really, really need you to go back to reliably masking. It’s life and death. Maybe not for you and your family (although it’s very possible!), but for vulnerable people in your communities. Elders, kids, and immunocompromised folks, of which there are untold hundreds of thousands more now.

I have a weird thing where if I see someone holding a lavalier mic up to their mouths (please don’t) for a split second my brain goes “ah, they’re brushing their teeth!” and it lends a lot of videos a surreal quality.
