Not just a loan, but specifically *consumer debt*

the idea that i have to defer to imaginary disabled people who can't write or draw and need a slop machine to do it for them before i talk about the way it's made my neurodivergent-ass life worse is offensive
sarahannelloyd.com
YES. oh my god. helpful tools are useless now.
nora.zone
it's especially galling when because of my memory problems i have learned extremely well how to use web tools as a second brain, to hold data i couldn't memorize. i could just look that stuff up. because of clutter from generative slop, it's impossible to find such information anymore

The "oh what will neurodivergent people do without AI???" thing reminds me a lot of "what will seniors do without Uber????"

(Also, I have ADHD and this bubble is affecting me and other people like me profoundly negatively, please stop doing this)

the idea that you get to use people like me as props in an argument and then dismiss our actual responses as "internalized bigotry" is deeply condescending and incredibly ableist in itself
joeyvazquez.bsky.social
But I'm not even mad at you b/c I know that most internalized bigotry against your own is just a function of trying to fit in with the dominant group to protect yourself from them.

A loan with worse terms than an Ashley HomeStore is a uniquely American definition of "relief"

If this was happening in any other country you'd have journalists and analysts discussing risks of state failure

Mariners fans have such strong feelings and such fierce loyalty and nobody's psyche is fully prepared for this
sarahannelloyd.com

in 2011, the president of antifa hired me to give fashion consultancy to the organization. i recommended everyone wear navy suits with tan shoes, dress sneakers, and golf polos with slim chinos. if you arrested everyone today wearing these things, you'd destroy antifa

After the 15th inning it is time to replace one player with a dog until someone wins or it's all dogs.
sarahannelloyd.com
of course when the Mariners make the playoffs they make it as stressful as they possibly can

15 innings is too many

What's the weird beat you won't let go? For me, it's Justin Bieber's abandoned monkey. (Turns out he's doing great, in case you also periodically worry about him)

Findings show that Mally has integrated well into the existing capuchin group in
Serengeti-Park. Since Mally came to his conspecifics before the beginning of
puberty, he was able to learn the typical behaviour of capuchins despite being hand-
raised. However, Mally does show atypical behaviour, such as his high level of
interaction with humans compared to other members of his group. This may be due
to being hand-raised and the resulting attachment to humans. Findings also show
that Mally spends less time on food foraging or generally in the energy gain
category. On the other hand, the proportion of inactivity is higher than in other
studies and may be due to the captivity aspect and the food supplementation by
humans. To reduce inactivity, employment opportunities may be expanded for the
capuchins, i.e. adding more dynamic branching (e.g. swinging ropes) to expand
range of play, and making access to their normal diet more complicated so that
animals spend more time searching for food, otherwise they are deprived of a lot of
locomotion and searching effort. A follow-up study is recommended, with an
additional understanding of how the animal species should spend their day and
increased employment opportunities. This could help to show whether the activity
budget of the animals was improved.

I think there's also the idea of trying to give people their own rope — although if we've learned anything from the reaction to Charles K's death, people, at best, tend to have real selective comprehension about that kind of thing

Brandi Kruse taught me so much about not giving people the benefit of the doubt. She keeps showing a little more of her entire ass every dang year.
