I think it's important to give money to author support orgs that actively defend our interests. It's just solidarity.

But solidarity is a contract. Author support orgs that violate solidarity by promoting AI do not get my money.

Every Shabbat since 10/7/23, our family and many others have lit a third candle praying for the return of the hostages taken that terrible day. Last Friday night while we celebrated a wedding, we lit with the now-fulfilled hope that it finally would be the last Shabbat without their freedom.
