Amazing story in The Times. Reform UK failed to pay VAT to HMRC on its sales (tickets, merchandise). About £400k in all.

Not tax avoidance. Not tax evasion. They just didn't realise when you sell stuff you have to charge VAT.

The purpose of "austerity" was to remove public money from the public realm and shovel it to the greedy private realm, from whence a lot of it never returns, as it either goes abroad or is otherwise put out of the reach of HMRC, and they wonder why the UK economy is dying???

Teesside’s freeport, initiated in 2021 under Rishi Sunak, has cost £560 million far exceeding the standard £25 million allocation (22 times the standard £25m).
90% profits go to the private sector.
This clearly shows the UK model of State aid post-Brexit is utterly corrupt.
