Zohran shows the courage that the rest of the Democratic party lacks. The only reason any left politician fails to stand up for trans people is if they fear anti-trans propaganda from the right, giving it respect rather than tearing down and stomping on it. It is this easy to just be kind and care.

It really can't be said enough: the goal of the "anti-woke" movement was always to destroy social norms against bigotry. And it worked. And there's a whole lot of purportedly "left" thinkers & commentators who helped it -- indeed, it couldn't have been done without them.

Yesterday my friend who lives a mile or so north of here said they were hovering over their neighborhood for 18 hours. I don't know what the mission is. Maybe watching movements or readying their watch for some on the ground incursion. But right now it just feels like they are terrorizing us.

Stephen Miller keeps leaving out - as he brays for blood - that it's a Trump judge telling them to stop being fascists. That said, I hate that this has to matter. Like we are only maybe spared federal-thuggery because it's one of mini-Kavanaughs that decided to actually obey their oath of office.

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.
