They Came for Our Neighbors. We Showed Up.

Before long, there were dozens, and then hundreds of people in the streets, watching and responding.

Chicago is a truly great city. The perfect mix of homey and cosmopolitan. We’ve got good home cooking from around the globe, people who don’t just want to be in a city but want to be in their neighborhood in their city, and a vibe that’s both no-nonsense and neighborly. I’d die to defend it.

Silverio Villegas, a single father, was fatally shot by fed agents after he allegedly tried to flee a traffic stop in Franklin Park.

His family spoke to the Tribune of their grieve and their fight.

Did the agents have visible identification? If not, that’s yet another violation of the TRO. Indiscriminately using tear gas - violation. ICE agents are the terrorists.
