This is so beautiful. I always hoped something like this world be true ✨
For decades, scientists have suspected that living organisms emit faint glimmers of light, invisible to unaided eyes yet potentially meaningful. Recent experiments using ultra-sensitive photon detectors have finally captured that elusive glow across entire animals and plants.

Scientists confirmed that animals and plants emit invisible light during normal cellular activity.

Gosh, another memory. As a teen I used to get the train to Brixton & hand over a pile of pound coins I’d saved from not eating my school lunch to buy gig tickets from the box office there. I’d go back to that any day over the current system.
The problem with ticket prices is a consequence of outsourcing to web platforms. Just require venues to sell tickets out of a box office located at the venue. That's most of the problem solved in a way that creates local job instead of putting them overseas.
This album was one of my first experiences of communist contraband - it had a fake one-sided paper inlay & I was fascinated.

I now know one reason the regime failed was the police tired of policing/not having music. It’s so devalued now it’s easy to forget people *really* want music.
#Album a day 282/365 🎧

A shoo in for my #5debutalbums8084 top 5, there are some fantastic songs here

Leaving the ECHR is a fucking stupid idea. It's on a par with leaving the European Union. So we'll probably end up doing it.

‼️NEW: Universities have tried to axe over 15,000 staff this year.

Yet the vice-chancellors responsible are paying themselves more than ever before.

We’re balloting to save higher education.

Our GS @drjogrady.bsky.social broke the story on BBC Today this morning👇
It also reminds me of questions I like to pose my students sometimes

Will urban music survive wealth inequality, & if so, how?

And/or: what will music in post-urban landscapes sound like?

... Because we might not be all that far from these eventualities.
MC Skibadee is what I think of when 'The Kids' say ‘skibidi’

Just one of many incredible sounds of the London that grew me

This; Proms in summer; jazz & rock everywhere; & open-minded people similarly enjoying everything. What luck. All Skibidi, no toilet

No matter how good you get at it, English as a second language = a long list of baffling experiences, e.g. recently:

Being told 'There's something 'Steel Magnolias' about you', not understanding what that meant, watching the film to see what it meant... and still not understanding what was meant.
