Hi, I'm Steph! I'm a queer working-class writer from Aberdeen but now I live near Glasgow with my partner and two overfamiliar cats.
I'm currently writing my first novel Spooky Bitch which won the Book Edit Writer's Prize and the Jericho First 500.
I have strong feelings for 80s music videos.

It’s time for light not heat on this one, I think - queer people tearing strips off other queer people is only useful for the people who hate us
Also curtis garner it would seem

It’s not “the trans lobby’s” reaction to “the inclusion of a book by a gay man”, it’s the LGBTQ community’s reaction to the inclusion of a transphobic hack who compared cis women supporting trans rights to holding down people to be raped, and got in a fight with the Auschwitz memorial!
Paul Burston is the founder of the Polari Prize and a supporter of LGB Alliance. Malcom Clark is a founder of LGB Alliance, and he is currently using transphobic slurs and calling trans women who have an issue with the Polari Prize "freaks."

That is what you support if you support the Polari Prize.

Found out via TikTok (💀) that The Darkest Night is on a Kindle* monthly deal! Just 99p in August.

The runner-up for the ADCI Prize and described as a 'man-hating repugnant read' by one reviewer 💅

I swear every time I go to Southside for my homosexual errands (usually haircuts) there's a new queer micro trend that hasn't reached the dizzy heights of Paisley. I feel like that kid going to PE after the summer holidays in the two-stripe trackies.
Congratulations Ian! I really enjoyed your story 💜
Well this has made my week! 🦝💜

We're back in the bin after a superb weekend @flashficfestuk.bsky.social where we met Trash Family in the flesh! 🦝

With Trash Family in mind, as promised here are the contributors for the upcoming charity print anthology.
Twenty-seven stunning stories we can't wait to share 🤩
Aye, funny how the rest of us working-class neurodiverse folk have managed to get through life without dropping trou in the workplace
Thank you so much for reading 💜
Thank you so much! Ahaha, swearing is essentially punctuation at this point. I excuse it by telling people it's my culture 😂
Listen to me swear a lot (as per usual) in this. Many thanks to JP at @trashcatlit.bsky.social for publishing my wee story 🦝💜
From our latest issue 🦝
We loved the layers in this gritty flash from @stephanietorrance.bsky.social. There is a well of emotion and torment hidden under the superb, scathing voice.
Read and listen to Stephanie read this in her Scots accent for an authentic story.
