I never abused the knowledge about his emotional processes, and I only asked for what I truly needed, but I have to be honest that is it a nicer, non-confrontational way to deal with a particularly difficult personality type, and still get the work done.

I used to have a male boss whose cycles were so predictable, that whenever I needed something for my department, I’d approach him with something OTHER than what I needed, gauge his reaction, and if he was in a dip, I’d excuse myself, check my watch, wait 15, ask for what I needed, & he was amenable.

I also think dudes need to understand their own hormonal cycle, because they have one, too. Too many think they’re immune to this sort of thing, and above it or whatever (ie. patriarchy), but they’re not.

The difference is, the swings are much shallower, but they also happen once every 15 minutes.

They used to teach this stuff (back before the prudes stopped teaching COMPLETE sex education in schools) but I honestly think both chicks and dudes should just listen to this breakdown of all the stages of the female cycle, to understand the nuances here.

Trump’s vision of America is an inversion of our founding creed.

Correct. What this incident highlights isn’t just the lack of morality in Saudi Arabia, but also how much of our own ethical credibility is being sacrificed or outright obliterated by Trump & the Conservative movement more broadly.
