Not in my experience, no. I have lost 200 lbs over the past 3.5 years, and live north of 51 latitude. Now while I admittedly have a lot of weight left to lose, I have actually noticed my metabolism dropping to the point my body temperature is now 36c normally instead of 37.

This isn't about that. Yes stingrays exist and are bad. But the real issue is ICE being able to get warrantless location data from carriers, as that gives them national real-time coverage, instead of just whatever the range on their stingray is.

It should be possible for someone to modify the android code to spew garbage out of the location service, but that wouldn't affect ICE. ICE will be getting location data from the carriers. That information is based on triangulation from the cell towers. On-phone location is mostly for apps/websites.

The deportation order is based on Vedam’s conviction for murder—a crime he did not actually commit and for which he’s now been wholly exonerated. He entered the US at 9 months old and was a legal permanent resident before his conviction. We are so, so, so far from the light of justice.

My family use Flo masks for indoor public spaces. They are as good as an n95, but more comfortable if you have to wear for a long time. I'm pretty sure there are only 2 or 3 other people in the whole valley who regularly wear them. It's such a habit I didn't even think of it as a signal to others!
