me (on the right) at 1 am watching historic baseball vs me (left) waking up less than 6 hours later vs me (right) realizing I am grateful I caught a fantastic game with the funny bsky gang 🥹
Two figures, simplistically drawn in black and white. On the right, a person with balled fists and a huge grin and eyes looks blurry from excitement. Next to them is a non-blurry figure with flat eyes, a flat mouth, and an overall exasperated demeanor.

Jon Bois could make History of the Seattle Mariners Pt. II just about this game

They should make the edges of the screen glow progressively redder for each extra inning

baseball is the best preparation for death because it does not come with a clock that tells you when your suffering will end one way or the other

I've done my best to immortalize what I failed to keep.

When I was young people used to say to me "Wait until you're fifty. You'll see." I am fifty. I haven't seen anything.

not a single Simpsons episode

Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.

They should invent a version of the 2025 MLB postseason that includes Corbin Carroll.

Mariners are the closest thing to a horse I have in this race because of that dang documentary.

“…like landlocked whales of grief”

Years of destruction. Summer and green. We grew older, rebellious, steely. Outdoor day drinking like we wanted to, like landlocked whales of grief, sweet and lonely, blunting our histories. Thought we knew art this way. Went cruel and wanting. An adopted process of blacking out. Residual fields cross back and cross over— B&W image of a field and sky and a fence running through it and a tree line in the distance

“We are told by leaders that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”

Incredible speech by Violet Affleck who warned about the ongoing dangers of COVID & Long Covid, & advocated for masks and clean air at the UN today!
