Yep and as I fan of the Tron franchise, I hate watching this movie tank because that means less attention and investment Disney will put into the series & telling its story. But I hate Leto more. I was honestly surprised they cast him. Sometimes I think it was intentional

My kind friend and coworker Starly needs some serious help and is in a deep pinch. Even if you can't donate, please spread the word around and RT if you can. Thanks, gang. ❤️

Hi guys! After what happened, it's evident that my mom's surgery can't wait, so I'm asking for donations to help to gather the money for it

She almost lost consciousness last night and the insurance keeps refusing to help us

Every help counts 🙏💕

It’s a good article. I personally think it speaks to America’s problem of putting more emphasis on personality than competence for ppl we listen to and trust to take action on our behalf

As good an explanation of U.S. politics c. 2025 as anything else I've seen.

Normal people lose to aura farmers. But aura farmers (e.g. Kirsti Noem cosplaying) lose to sh!tposters (people in chicken suits or inflatable frogs mocking them), always.

Read the article.

I’m glad you enjoyed Opus! I enjoyed watching both of the movies you mentioned both bc they show the insidious nature of cults

This is your regular reminder to back up your written work. It's easy to forget that you could be one computer glitch away from losing months of work. Don't regret it later, head it off at the pass and back it up ASAP!

I can explain why this happens!

It is because all forms of government require people at the top. Over time, often quickly, these people form a new political alignment; the controlling class.

Without strict oversight & promise of consequence, this is the outcome of any form of government.

Communist/Socialist politicians have failed comprehensively on the time-line of history - without exception! - ending up as police states and dictatorships costing masses of people their lives!

The pendulum swings this way and that way - but peace and prosperity generally happen in the middle.

For the NZ Trade Data I am writing a guide for, This is my current standard commodity panel. 1st - monthly change in dollars (h/t @schiff.nz) which suggests if movements between US and non-US amounts are replacements, 2nd (I may yet drop) is US as % of non-US, & 3rd unit value- checks if oversupply

If you want to deepen your skills as a dev, learning about databases and SQL is a good way to go. And this course from Harvard will teach you database and SQL basics. You'll learn about querying & writing to DBs, database design, & how to optimize and scale, too.

Disappointingly On Brand that after industrialization capitalists were presented with a choice between innovation & breakthroughs that would enshrine eternal prosperity or prospectors who voraciously extract & destroy beyond repair in exchange for a rapid but finite payout & they chose the latter.

It became derogatory when ppl became aware of the hypocrisy of others social virtue, as ppl could see that it wasn’t consistent or equally applied. Social media played a big role in this by monetizing displays of charity & good will with likes, views, & shares. Such acts became viewed as insincere
utopia-defer.red
anyone else notice that the west took a turn for the worse once the concept of signaling one’s own social virtue became derogatory, almost as if cynically deriding all displays of charity and good will is indicative of a deeply cynical and nihilistic society capable of collaborating in genocide

her advocacy for Palestinians doesn't bother me nearly as much as she is so desperately doing all this as an actual act of transparent virtue signaling, to fill the absence she has in depth of character

There some irony here of making something built off of logical proofs to reinforce falsehoods. I’m reminded of watching ppl meltdown because Grok wouldn’t give them answer they wanted bc it was simply stating facts in the other place. It was always funny but simultaneously sad, pathetic,& dangerous

Deep dive into the surge in US pedestrian deaths:

"It’s not that more pedestrians are getting hit by vehicles; it’s that the ones that are getting hit are more likely to die."

"[That] seems like fairly strong evidence for the theory that the rise in large SUVs is behind the uptick in ped deaths."
Why Are So Many Pedestrians Killed by Cars in the US?
It’s unfortunately not uncommon for pedestrians to be killed by cars in the US.
