An #agentsguide to THE NECROMANCY OF OZYMANDIAS AND ANNABEL, an Adult Dark Fantasy about a Cuban necromancy student who wants to resurrect his family and the undead woman who searches for her beloved teacher at the scholomance they're both enrolled at.
#amquerying
A graphic with a stack of books in the left corner between a candle and mortar and pestle. On top of the stack is a skull. On the right is a quill above a magic book.

In the center of the graphic it reads: An Agent's Guide to: The Necromancy of Ozymandias and Annabel by Nicholas Perez
A 115,000 word Adult Dark Fantasy A graphic with an owl on a branch in front of the moon at the top right. At the bottom there is a table top with (left to right) two extinguished candles, a broken mirror with shards of it on the table, a skull, and two more extinguished candles.

In the center it reads: The Pitch
Ozy must avoid the murderer in the shadows of the necromantic scholomance to create a soul amethyst to bring back his family, however that murderer just might be the mysterious Annabel, whose fractured memories and hunger for Ozy’s soul make her wonder if she really is the murderer. A graphic that at the top says COMPS, short for comparative titles.
From left to right: the book covers to Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo, A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers, and the Netflix poster for The Fall of the House of Usher. A graphic that at the top says, What to Expect.

The left side from the top down says:
A bisexual Cuban guy who just wants his family back.

A bisexual woman who hungers for flesh and yearns for the woman who made her into the beast she is.

A school of necromancy for new adult and older adult students in an old Portuguese palace.

The right side from the top down says:
The worst faculty since, well, the movie The Faculty.

Different kinds of necromantic magic and undead creatures.

Are your memories real? Or just lies?

Worm birth.

The past haunts all of us.

It's a strange killing at the Volcano Lounge in my mystery comedy Murder in Murk City: “I don’t care how many suckers you’ve lured into your shady eruption racket, Muggett. Not even the smell of burning magma can cover the stench of this killing.” bit.ly/43FRVGC #kindle #kindleunlimited #booksky

Today marks 2 years since A LIGHT MOST HATEFUL said "run from that small town, girl, they're going to kill you"

Normally I don't post 2-year marks for my books, but I just found out this one has earned out on its advance! 🎉🎉 so an ENORMOUS THANK YOU to everyone who's chosen to escape Chapel Hill ⚡
2 Years on the Run, above the cover of A Light Most Hateful by Hailey Piper, art by Julia Lloyd, showing a red cover with lightning striking a dark silhouette. Around it are the following quotes about the book:

Today I learned of the genre-defying novel Palenque by Cuban author Maielis González will be published in Spain by Editorial Cuatro lunas on November 6. I desperately want this novel to be translated to English! Here is Maielis' announcement of the book from her Instagram (translation provided)
Cover to Palenque by Maielis González.
A Black woman stands in profile wearing a pink dress and headwrap and holding a paper and pencil. Behind her a green palm trees and on her long skirt are the faces and figures of Black Cubans. Screenshot from Maielis González's Instagram isla_viterbo about her upcoming novel Palenque. Translation is from Instagram itself.

"Amix, the long-awaited moment arrives when I can show you the cover of my upcoming novel. Palenque is tricky to tag. If I told you it's a historical novel or a steampunk fantasy work or a Cuban ukrony or a found manuscript or a novel of magical realism or Caribbean afrofuturism or finisecular science fiction... i wouldn't be lying in either case. You will have to read it to come to your own conclusions. And you will be able to do it very soon, because it will be in bookstores on November 6th throughout Spain thanks to the label @cuatrolunaseditorial which trusted it from its very beginning.
Thanks to Sonia Pulido for her beautiful illustration and to the people who read it and contributed invaluablely in her writing.
We'll talk long and long about the topic. In the meantime, may Elegguá open the roads for him to reach his hands."

I want to share one of my favorite of Lord Dunsany's Jorkens stories. These were the archetypical "club tales" - stories told over a glass of whiskey, which might just be tall tales, but which you wanted to believe.

"Mrs. Jorkens" (1930), first published as "The Mermaid's Husband"

If I remember correctly, in her previous book, Off With Their Heads, the lesbian MC sat in a bi guy's lap and inspected him to possibly see if she might be interested in guys.
She isn't, but she stuck her hand in his mouth and I still wonder how that was supposed to confirm or deny her interest 😭

A little over halfway through The Coven Tendency by Zoe Hana Mikuta and, welp, the main character just chewed apart the hand of the guy she loves while the girl she loved napped on her shoulder. The guy just offered his other hand when she was done. Neat.

An old car driving down a country road at night. Conifer trees overhang the road, telephone poles line one side. In the foggy background a huge jotun is shown stepping over the road.
The jotun has a ridged back and has large hand-like appendages with long, menacing claws extending from them. Their head is of a huge deer skull, with antlers extending, and an eye glowing like a full moon.

Today's update in the Kickstarter campaign is about Walter Map, a 12th century writer of amusing stories, some of which featured Welsh folklore.

The cover of They Are Still Here (Mae Nhw Yma O Hyd).

The image is of the sorceror, Gwydion, surrounded by wild animals (wolf, boar, deer) in a Celtic knotwork frame. Gwydion's hat is crowned with antlers. He carries an axe in his right hand and an oak twig in his left.

We need your help again, I really really really hoped our housing problems were finally over and we had a home. The harassment from our new landlord just does not let up whenever either of us set foot in there.
Now completely broke from all this and effectively homeless, again
