Maybe our real values were the ones we lived along the way.
This is one of the reasons I think we should have UBI!!!!

Also good transit so we can take away licenses from those who shouldn’t drive.

My grad school ethics prof was really into Deepak Chopra.

Why yes, I did submit a lengthy ethics complaint about him.
One of the top Epstein emailers? Wellness grifter Deepak Chopra with 5,348.

"Quantum" creepy?

OpenAI is now letting people sync their contacts. This is gonna go well.

(Mentioning this because I hadn’t seen it yet, not because it’s the only new thing.)

RIGHT?????

Like, I’m pissed at Apple for a bunch of things but I’m pretty embedded in the ecosystem, and will be for a while.

But…the next time I get a computer, it’s gonna be Linux.

CVE-2026-20841 (the Notepad remote execution vulnerability) should usher in the Millennia of Linux on the Desktop.

There's a link between the AI disruption and the authoritarian political attacks on expertise. Highly educated white collar folks considered ourselves to be a powerful culture, on the basis of our expertise & credentials. But that's not where power comes from, and we're learning that the hard way.
All I'm saying here is that there's a strong air from white collar people like we're not supposed to be disrupted. That's for blue collar folks. But we're not special. We never have been. Just lucky. And eventually your luck runs out. Capitalism comes for everybody eventually.

Moderna reportedly spent *750 million dollars* on the study for this vaccine, so it now appears that MAHA might be Fucking With the Money, of Big Pharma no less, so it'll be interesting to see how it all works out (as we sicken and die of preventable disease)

I will admit I'm hot-headed about tech worker issues, so I'l try to be more even-handed in articulating this: Think of the genuine, real grief we feel because of the decimation our good, valued friends in journalism have been enduring over recent years. We know they're victims of heartless tycoons.

Importantly, despite the size of this list, the reporters at Wired believe it to be incomplete.

It is deeply weird to me that they don’t understand this BUT ALSO they don’t understand the NFL hiring the biggest streamer in the world bc the NFL does want to make money.

(I mean, of course I understand it; it’s just funny.)
America is learning the hard way that "we make a lot of money together, you benefit from trade with us" does not actually equal "we own you and you must be subservient," and that countries will forgo some money to preserve sovereignty.

Today's corrupt, self-interested US leaders don't get that.
Greer: "The thing to keep in mind with Canada is this is a country that's 75% dependent on the United States for its gross domestic product ... it can't be a situation where the Canadians have an antagonistic relationship"

Actually I do know, I’m going to stick it in my soda fizzer for fizzy orange juice
February 10, 2026 at 5:38 AM
When done with the zesting, I’m juicing the oranges. I don’t have a juicer big enough, but cutting them into fourths works well enough. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing with it!
February 10, 2026 at 5:31 AM
To be clear, I’m assuming blood oranges will work with the same technique (as long as I figure out the sugar). I guess I will find out!
