I have no idea, but I can tell you that watching tape of the Habs power play is certainly not the answer.
How can Maple Leafs fix their power play?

The Montreal Canadiens made a personnel swap on Friday evening, recalling Florian Xhekaj from the Laval Rocket and sending down Joshua Roy. This is Xhekaj’s first recall into the NHL. He didn’t have…

Brian hits the nail on the head again. When you're playing from behind you have to start taking more chances and inevitably you become more loose defensively. If a goalie keeps you in the game early and you're not having to play from behind you play completely differently (in theory).
Canadiens were loose defensively at end last night but that’s what happens when you have to chase the score line.

Gonna take you back to Natural Stat Trick HDCA - high danger scoring chances allowed.

Canadiens are 8th best in the league. That’s pretty good.

It’s not D. It’s G. .850 last 30 days.

The only thing more damaging to a hockey team than having a goaltender who can’t stop the puck is having two goaltenders who can’t stop the puck.

In goals saved above expected, Montembeault is in 74th place out of 75 goalies. Dobes is 26th and is rapidly declining (he was top 10 not too long ago). There are lots of issues with the team right now, but a team simply cannot win games if a goalie doesn't make the saves he's supposed to.
You might want to invent a dozen reasons to chat about why the Canadiens are losing.

You’d be wrong.

They haven’t had a better than 870 goalie performance since Utah game.

Tonight, 6 allowed on 30. .800.

800 gives you no chance to win.

On Nov. 1st, Jakub Dobes was named the NHL 3rd star of the month after going 6-0-0 with a 1.97 GAA & .930 sv% in October.

MSL then started Sam Montembeault the next two games.

Dobes didn’t play another game until Nov. 6th and he hasn’t won a game since Oct. 28th.

When you get goaltending like that, things are wonderfully simple.
If you can't stop a puck, you lose.

This tracks. We can criticize turnovers and breakdowns but when it comes to the shots themselves, the numbers say that 5 of them had no business going in on NHL goal tenders

Trade Monty and bring up Fowler. He’s ready.

The mistake was going back to Montembeault when Dobes was hot.

I personally feel they were trying to keep Monty in the Olympic chatter but should have been thinking team first.

We all know Fowler is the future and Monty is a stop gap and that in mind play the hot hand.

It ended up hurting both.

After starting the season with 3 goals in his first 3 games, Zack Bolduc has scored only 2 points in his last 16 games.

He’s now on the Habs 1st line with Nick & Cole, and he’s back on PP1.

He’s gonna get his chance, it’s now up to him to take advantage of the opportunities.

Are the Caps starting Lindgren tonight? I would suspect so since I think Thompson started last night. Habs do not want to be facing the best goalie in the league (stats wise).
