Hard agree. The best cities I’ve lived in have been full of all different kinds of people. Places that are overwhelmingly single culture can be nice to visit but I think I’d eventually succumb to utter boredom living there.
I realise I'm just a freak, but living in a multicultural city is the best thing of all time, it's just the best possible human experience and i can not understand why anyone on earth would be like "weve got to destroy this"

Todd: Canadiens get it right after two decades of draft disasters
In four drafts run by Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes since Trevor Timmins' calamitous rein, the Habs have chosen as many as six elite players.

Accurate history
Radical Republicans ca. 1871: We’re going to reconstruct the Southern states to make them more hospitable to multi-racial democracy

Radical Republicans ca. 2026: We’re going to deconstruct the multiracial democracies in the Northern & western states to make them more hospitable to white supremacy

Judge Katherine Menendez has ruled that ICE must stop harming protesters.

This includes detaining them without cause, using pepper spray and less lethal ammunition and detaining them.

It's a start!

Next step, abolish ICE!

This is so dangerous. They're really trying to provoke exactly that.

Do none of these jackasses understand that if it comes to civil war everyone suffers no matter who wins? That it is likely to leave a shattered nation behind?
The rhetoric MAGA media is using to describe Minnesota protesters is increasingly unhinged and militaristic -- "insurgents" and "terrorists" waging "guerilla warfare,” looking to provoke a "Fort Sumter moment" and start a civil war.

My column:
After two decades of Trevor Timmins imposed mediocrity, the Canadiens are showing that it is indeed possible to find draft gems in unusual places.

As an addendum, I have seen Laine skate recently.

That dude’s knee was ailing him. He looks faster.

Don’t know how fast he will process but he will skate better.

Hilarious, Bo Bichette signing with the Mets.

He and the Mets deserve each other. Overpriced, overrated, under-performing.
And the Blue Jays lose a guy they wanted for some reason. Bonus.

It's quite chilling to search the Associated Press wire for photos of the Iran protests and find basically nothing.

For those who don't know, for the AP to be unable to find someone to take a photo and get it out of the country means the blackout is about as dark as it can be.

Hard to believe something so delicate could have been made 1500 years ago - let alone make such a huge journey and remain intact.
WOW! This late Roman blue glass cup made an epic 12,000 km journey!

Made in the eastern Mediterranean, it was excavated from the Cheonmachong Tomb, a royal tomb of the ancient Silla Kingdom in Korea! 🤯

This woman needs to be arrested and tried as the criminal she is.
“But Kristi Noem hasn’t just changed the way ICE presents itself. The tactics the agency now uses and the ideas fueling its mission are eerily identical to the vision of the Proud Boys that McInnes laid out from the group’s very beginnings.”

#Habs send Jacob Fowler and Owen Beck back down to Laval
January 16, 2026 at 3:13 PM
From what I saw last night, it's time the Canadiens sent Jacob Fowler to Laval to finish goalie school. It's not that he was awful – he wasn't. But he wasn't dominant either and if he is your future, he needs to be playing 90 percent of the games somewhere, not 33 percent.

Just the luck.

Habs finally start to put it together just as the Buffalo Sabres suddenly morph into the 1976-77 Canadiens.

This is your reminder that Hungarian-Jewish scientist George de Hevesy dissolved two Nobel Prizes in aqua regia to keep them out of the hands of the Nazis.

He then left the dissolved solution on his shelf and fled to Sweden.

(After the war he un-dissolved the gold and the prizes were re-cast.)

I made this video so we can talk about what ICE is actually doing in our cities. I have the details and you need to hear them. Please share this.

ICE isn't targeting criminals or even people here illegally. They are just making up the law - every day. Here's what's going on.

One thing I’d like to see is my senators and governor every day on tv at 5pm holding a press conference with video of every documented abuse that ICE is doing. Curate all of the witnessing we’re doing and show it to the press.

Just so people outside of MN know - a lot of the US citizens getting “arrested” by ICE never get processed at Whipple. They are roughed up during the arrest and then often dropped off miles from where they were picked up. It means we don’t know the true scale of what ICE is doing based on ICE stats
