Here to learn and share. Former US Marine, terrain park designer, riverboat pilot, a bunch of other weird stuff, and now marketing. MN. Red area of a blue state.
Former head of two different central banks and a current head of state.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone on earth more qualified to make this assertion.
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

Huh. Yeah some light googling of the guy really makes these comments feel more significant.
Archbishop Broglio is, to put it extremely mildly, not generally viewed as one of the more liberal of the American bishops.
It’s come to this: “Catholic members of the US armed forces could in good conscience consider disobeying orders to attack Greenland if such orders were issued, according to Archbishop Timothy Broglio, the bishop responsible for the pastoral care of US military personnel.”

Sixty miles north of Minneapolis, the local Mexican restaurant has to lock its door and let in customers as they arrive. This occupation is big, and it's atrocious.

How embarrassing for our Institutions that their cowardice was so immediate, and is so complete, that Trump can't even imagine that in other countries elites didn't just do what they're told.

Proper preparation prevent piss poor performance.
also, please, for the love of God, stop talking about what you would do and start preparing for what you will do when it does come to your city. this isn’t hypothetical! do the work! you’ll be glad you did!
All these other cities are like “we’d do x, y, and z to ICE, we’d be way more badass than Minneapolis” and as a Minneapolitan I have to tell you this is a weird fucking thing to be competitive about, it is an absolute hell and a really bleak thing to be fantasy role playing.

Tell you what. It's not a great feeling, as I sit here waiting to legal observe and advocate, that the thing that causes me to start up is seeing more than one person who looks like me.

If he woke up one morning with a very realistic looking Ticket to Heaven on his nightstand I think he'd just retire and golf.

"GUARANTEED ADMISSION. IRREVOCABLE."

Bonus points if it's for the VIP section of heaven.

Maybe even a nomination for the Heaven Hall of Fame.

Someone should get on that.

HOST: Senator Schumer, now that the President has literally nuked a former ally, is the nuclear option finally on the table in the Senate?

SCHUMER: Now is not the time to...
SMS: "ERIC, this is Senator John Fetterman. Trump's waste of refined nuclear fuels in turning the Rhine basin into radioactive glass could have been saved to power the AI Jobs of tomorrow. Can I count on your support of $10 to get more plutonium in reactors and less in warheads? actblue.org/push "

In the same way there's Christmas and Xmas, there are Christians and Xians.

In both cases, one you find at church, the other you find at Walmart.
Ignorance of Springsteen's politics aside, I'd certainly love to hear Gabe expound on his understanding of Christianity as a pro-ICE faith.

I've heard rumors that Philadelphia is next for the ICE invasion after Minneapolis.
Maybe I'm wrong, but
1) More than 11% of all ICE agents are in Minneapolis, and they've utterly failed to pacify the city.
2) Philly is 5x the size of Minneapolis.
3) "Minnesota nice" is a thing. We don't have that.

It's a routine things in my business professional life that I have to gently teach people that me having been a Marine doesn't mean I crave being a robot, and that USMC discipline is what it is because most Marines are basically pirates.
Quakers are enjoined to see the light shining from inside all people and commit to pacifism because otherwise they would kill each other with knives.

A domestic abuser will always work to separate his victim from their social and support networks. 100% of the time.

Turns out that's true whether "domestic" is being used in the household sense or the geopolitical sense.
Trump has reunited the world—with China.
A parade of foreign leaders is suddenly visiting China after years away. On Friday, Canadian PM wrapped up a Beijing trip, 1st trip since 2017. Korean president was there earlier this month (last visit: 2019); British PM will be there soon (last visit: 2018)

And I'm sure the pregame and halftime on-field programming for the game that now has a government-imposed attention monopoly won't be propaganda.

And I'm sure the coverage rights won't go to an admin ally.
Trump, under the guise of patriotism, will attempt to tell private broadcasters and sports teams when they can play games.

This is what dictators do.
