Take a minute to really absorb the scale of what you're seeing.

This is 'Cueva de los Cristales', the Cave of the Crystals, near the city of Naica in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.

The crystals are selenite, a type of gypsum.

They formed over the last 1 million years.

What do you think Viking long boat sails were made from?

This has really surprised me...

This is utter bollocks. Seapark was one of the few places you can exercise dogs off leads and for 8 months of the year the only people there during the day are dog walkers.

Apparently even the dog wardens think it's ridiculous.

I don’t think the human brain is designed to comprehend the magnitude of lies and crimes this stuff is revealing.

Has the world just quiet quit and everyone is just throwing any old nonsense out there?

This is the AI mock up of the proposed new Scotrail trains with batteries on top.

Now I'm no engineering expert but even I see a number of issues with this.

There must be some *really* sketchy stuff in the rest of Epstein files that they're fighting to keep under wraps.

If they had been dumped in one go there are so many people implicated that the Trump stuff could have slipped under the radar easier.

Or maybe Trump's team are just that stupid.

Unless I'm having a stroke and have forgotten word things...

Mostly adults. So some not adults, otherwise known as children, were available for sex.

So what he's happily admitting is Epstein facilitated other people having sex with children and he knew all about it? 🤨
"[Mandelson] does not believe, despite the conviction for soliciting child prostitutes, and the numerous allegations that surfaced before his death, that Epstein was a paedophile [but hosted] parties [where] young models, mostly adults, were available for sex and would often be well paid."

It's interesting that the two comedy memes I've seen in response to Mandelson are Father Ted and Little Britain.

I'm beginning to think if people write shady comedy characters we should probably see that as a confession.

I'm never not disappointed when I see a photo of Bad Bunny and it's not this guy...
bugs bunny is holding a bowl of carrots in front of a sign that says " e. coyote huis "
Alt: bugs bunny is holding a bowl of carrots with his back to you. He turns head to you with a cheeky expression. I think he's about to do some rascally.

I am naive. I always knew it wasn't about protecting girls. But I'm genuinely surprised it is this actively nothing to do with protecting girls.
JK Rowling's team invited Jeffery Epstein to the deathly hallows play and to a Harry potter dinner.

Can’t believe Labour are briefing such a poor line, when an obvious response is “why is the party who blocked a local candidate from running because he’s midway through his political term calling a London Assembly member ‘chicken’ for not running to be MP of a constituency 160 miles from his home?”
A Labour spokesperson, responding to Zack Polanski’s interview with Laura Kuenssberg, said: "If [he] thought the Greens had a chance in Gorton and Denton he wouldn't have chickened out standing himself."

This is pretty weak IMO - Polanski is a serving London Assembly member and lives in Hackney...

I've never appreciated the art of science communication as much as today when I fell down a rabbit hole of why does the rate of change in day length change throughout the year.

I've given up looking for a straightforward answer.

Nerds always have interesting thoughtful points.

And that's the problem, those thoughtful points make him question his rightwing brainwashed reality.
You dont win 'em all! Reform's Matt Goodwin in Sunday Times: 'Most .. people criticising me are nerds. The last thing I want is to be at some dinner party table with Nick Robinson & Mary Beard. I'd rather shoot myself in the head'. Hang on, I'm not THAT bad!Nerds sometimes have a (thoughtful!) point.

Colour fact of the day: Kandinsky described the colour orange as "[it's] like a man, convinced of his own powers"

Is that why Trump has such an odd skin tone?

Having been back in Northern Ireland for 6 years I've been deprogrammed from Big Clotted Cream brainwashing.

A good thick layer of proper butter and jam is all you need.

Who's with me!
Yesterday I glimpsed this Cornish-flag bumper sticker in the wild and leaned forward expecting to read some horrible jingoistic slogan across the middle.

#R4Today had someone on from Mumsnet talking about the dangers of social media and teens.

Which is ironic given the radicalisation of women on that site from I am fed up with girls' clothes being pink to extreme transphobia.

Rachel Reeves: "It is not right that people who don't go to university bear the cost for others to." I don't use local leisure centres and I don't drive, so will I be made exempt for taxation that pays for all that stuff? Or is it only education we'll be going after
