Serenity. I became a huge Firefly fan after getting back from Japan in 2003 since my friend circle had fallen in love with it while I was gone.

I leaned over mid-film to my friend I was seeing it with and said, “Is this supposed to get good at some point?”

It did not, and I was not happy.
fun question: what’s the maddest you’ve ever been leaving a movie theater? not necessarily worst movie you’ve seen, but the one that just pissed you off the most. mine is Batman v Superman

So
Get away
Another way to feel what you didn't want yourself to know
And let yourself go
You know you didn't lose your self-control
There's just no end to the rainbow

We've finally come full circle. People are longing for less chatter dialogue in their games by referencing ocarina, a game that people consistently complained about Navi being too talkative to the point of it being a meme for 20 odd years.
This is why I just recently dropped a game 😂😂😂😂

Like we don’t need banter every second silence is okay haha

I ADORE A Thousand Li, and The First Step is basically my comfort audio book. I'm thrilled it's coming back in print so I can finally get a physical copy for my shelf!

Preorder now or Elder Mo will personally see to it that you are banished from the Sect!
Every path starts somewhere.

Welcome to the Kingdom of Shen. This is the official map for the Ace Books edition of The First Step.

Available only in this print edition, along with an exclusive bonus short story. Preorders are still live—link in bio.

“I don’t want to learn <an RPG> because I already learned D&D…”

Sometimes, when someone I know IRL says this, I want to place my hands upon their shoulders, look them in the eyes, and say with confidence, “I’ve played D&D with you; no you didn’t.”

Fuck President's Day. Glad people with enough benefits already get to celebrate war criminals.

In Neverwinter Nights 2 there is a dwarf monk, and his deal is that he watched some monks get harassed in a bar and absolutely kick the shit out of the aggressors.

And he decided to become a monk because he wanted to kick ass like them.

No character concept will ever top that.

Actual play d20 streamers: please stop making PCs make rolls when you’re introducing them, especially if it’s a Perception check. It’s always obvious there is no actual risk and getting that “first roll of the game” is painful when nothing interesting is going to come of it.

"Players seeking to have fun is bad for many games" is the opening statement of my latest post, where I argue that players should stop playing games trying to have fun, and instead let the game systems take them where they will, and trust that the fun will come.

Against Intent - Tangent Joy
Players seeking to have fun is bad for many games. I get frustrated, fairly often, with how people play games. It’s not a particularly serious

I'm working on converting Sokol Keep from FRC1: Ruins of Adventure (aka Pool of Radiance) over to Tales of the Valiant, and I've started by simplifying the experience into a 5-room dungeon.

I dunno what’s more frustrating: that the algorithm knows when I am reading my Tales of the Valiant Game Master’s Guide, or that it keeps advertising it to me when I already own it.

I'm probably going to refilm the intro and repost this, but if you are still on tiktok, I spent 7 hours researching, filming, & editing this-- currently I will make $0! I don't have a job until the 9th so views & engagement help

I'll probably stream some more later and maybe that will help it too

I don't know that I'm feeling better, but I am at least not in a crisis anymore.

I am resolved to write scathing feedback to Reverse: 1999 when the patch feedback comes in. I can't do much about the state of the world in general though... so... I dunno.

In my experience the classes who attract the most problematic players are, in order:

1. Rogues -- will absolutely ruin the game for the DM and other players without a second thought
2. Any spellcaster who isn't a cleric -- will never learn the rules
3. Fighters - will optimize the fun out
February 12, 2026 at 5:06 PM
A quick and easy way to improve the overall quality of your D&D groups is to never invite anyone who says they have Chaotic Neutral energy, *especially* if they say they like rogues.
