CAC is a vibrant coalition of a dozen major national environment, environmental justice, and public health groups, working together to drive ambitious, durable federal action based on science, to address the climate crisis.
Climate change doesn't just affect our health, but our wallets too - yet President Trump’s pick for Federal Reserve chair wants to drop any focus on climate change. Ignoring this massive risk to our economy means there's no way his decisions will be in the country's best interest. bit.ly/4ae2QL8

🚨 This EPA’s actions to put polluters first, at the expense of our health, are dangerous and will be deadly. Administrator Zeldin has abandoned his sworn duty and must be held accountable for his agenda.

FACT CHECK: Wind turbines do not freeze when properly weatherized.

Wind power overperformed in Texas during Winter Storm Fern and was a major reason why the state did not suffer the same blackouts as it did in 2021.

Meanwhile, natural gas prices increased by 60%. 🤔
Trump: "Coal doesn't mind very cold weather, right? You're not allowed to say the word 'coal' with preceding by saying 'clean, beautiful coal.' It's not affected by bad weather. The windmills are are frozen. You know that, right? They don't turn. The windmills aren't turning."

One year into the Trump administration, our communities have been facing raising costs. Household electric bills are up 13% and utility bills have increased by $85 billion since Trump took office. His administration's reliance on expensive fossil fuels will only make this worse.

Earlier this month, CAC visited LA and hosted a tour with community members and local leaders to discuss the impacts of the January 2025 wildfires. One year later, residents are still facing devastating impacts and struggling to rebuild. Without climate action, these disasters will get worse.

Severe winter storms, like the one that hit many parts of the US this weekend, put strain on the natural gas power system, leading to power outages and rapid price spikes. Dependence on unreliable fossil fuels is putting us at risk when these winter storms hit.

-Natural gas bills up 60%

-165,000 clean energy jobs lost

-Renewable power for 13M homes killed

-30,000 lives/year at risk from gutted pollution rules

In just one year in office, Trump has managed to:

-Raise electricity prices by 13%
-Raise gas prices by nearly 60%
-Destroy 165,000 clean energy jobs
-Cancel enough clean energy projects to power 13 million homes

I thought Trump was supposed to lower prices on Day 1? Guess not.

Your energy bills are up because Donald Trump is determined to keep them that way.

He promised to cut energy costs by 50%, but here we are a year later, and they are up 13%, all because he's dead set on dismantling America's energy independence.

Today marks 1 year of Trump’s presidency. It has been the most disastrous period of anti-science, climate regressive policies in history, with more than 100 rollbacks and other harmful actions leading to substantial, measurable harms to the American people and the climate.
