Rachel Weiner of the Post confirms that the DC Streetcar will shutter in 5 months, in March, about a year earlier than expected because DC budget cuts + early termination of contract costs.

Operational for a decade, tracks were laid back in 2007.

I know they say women of a certain age are invisible, and I'm okay with being invisible except when I'm invisible while sitting at a bus shelter. Watching the bus roar right by without stopping is always depressing.

I believe some of the pricing is being built in as Amazon's prices have increased significantly. I'm sure some people don't notice but I'm guessing they are seeing an impact on sales.

I just got off the phone with my mom. It's so lovely to talk to someone who doesn't remember what's happening in our country (even if it's because dementia). She reads the NYT daily and the New Yorker and little of it sticks in her memory and I'm honestly grateful.

Imagine if the effort and money being thrown at growing the Racist Deportation Force, renovating Trump's Qatari bribe 747, and turning the White House into a tacky eyesore was instead used to help Americans avoid bankruptcies due to medical expenses or work loss due to medical problems.

I am calling for a moratorium on new tote bags. We all have more than enough tote bags already. Stop giving me tote bags at conferences. I do not want or need any more tote bags.

If a person is out biking and not legally required to wear a helmet, we can all just not say anything. Keep that comment to yourself. Their lack of a helmet doesn't affect you.

To be fair, we moved into their neighborhood. They were there first.

And you don't need to fall into the water. They crawl out for small leashed dogs fairly regularly. Do not try to save your dog or you will also become a snack.
