AI attention farming online isn't just annoying slop, it can be actively dangerous. Luckily the lovely humans behind @walkhighlands.co.uk caught this dangerous 'advice' before it was posted

Fake AI accounts sending hikers and tourists on dangerous routes and in grave danger.

We have no need for AI. It is lazy and evil.

This is a heads-up about fake AI accounts which have proliferated across social media.

The screenshot is from a genuine thread asking for advice on a mountain route; there are plenty of useful, real human replies.
The attempted reply (we stopped it) looks very real - but it is from an AI bot.

Very sad to read that Dave Hewitt, of The Angry Corrie, has died, aged just 64.

Happy St Andrew's Day! Scotland's patron saint is St Andrew and his feast day is celebrated by both eastern and western Christian churches on 30 November. The picture is of St Andrews. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

Two things stand out about this picture:

1. a political leader embracing rather than demonising asylum seekers;

2. the beautiful clothes the Afghan girls are wearing, and which they are free to show in public.
It’s not where we come from that counts, it’s about where we’re going.

Great to meet Afghan Scots children at Maryhill Burgh Halls and hear a lovely rendition of Robert Burns.

Quakers for Peace and other protesters gathering outside #QuislingHouse in #Edinburgh. Lots of police present from across Scotland. Protesters seem to be of the older, genteel appearance. I'm not sure why they need more police than for an Old Firm game... 🤔

This rubbish isn't dropped by passing walkers, it is a year upon year accumulation of fly-tipped rubbish.

If local authorities allow fly-tipped rubbish to remain in place, it just attracts more fly-tippers.

These vehicles pose significantly greater safety risks, with children *eight times* more likely to die if struck by an SUV and cyclists suffering much more severe injuries
