We were unable to make the flan, so I bought chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons and took my freeze-dried sugar skull from the candy bag I bought at the Mothman festival. They're just as good for satisfying our two little friends' sweet teeth.

The stew turned out great, so I'm very happy about it.

Jimmingbird, Starzzy, and I cooked our Bistec Encebollado tonight.

Starzzy wanted to watch the steak and onions boil in the pot, but I had to move him away so he wouldn't fall in.

Jimmingbird was more cautious about keeping an eye on the stew as it simmered. When it was ready, they let me know.

When I had the other ingredients ready, I opened the bag, put them inside, closed the bag again, and put it into another bag. We don't want to risk leaks in the fridge!

Starzzy and Jimmingbird had a short rest while I washed dishes. The bag was seemingly a good pillow, but it's in the fridge now.

We put the onions in a bag for the stew.

While I prepared the other ingredients, Jimmingbird diced the garlic with no problems. The garlic was added to the bag.

I put on gloves before adding the cube steaks. I threw away the gloves and steak package, sanitized everything, and zipped up the bag.

Starzzy was in charge of cutting the onions, but he didn't know he had to cut them into rings!

"It's fine! Cooking is a labor of love," I told him, "We can still use some of it. What we don't put in the stew can be put into a container for something else."

He sliced the second onion into rings.

We've begun preparations for Bistec Encebollado, a Puerto Rican steak and onion stew! We'll be mixing our ingredients today, but we'll wait until tomorrow to cook. We might make some flan tonight too.

We'll dedicate our dinner and dessert to Vico Ortiz.
