THPS4 runs at 720p on Xbox (and 360) natively, but for some reason, the UI textures don't have higher res versions, so they look really bad lmao. Just stretched to fit the higher resolution instead of scaled appropriately (with higher res textures).
Wonder if this is a sacrifice in the name of VRAM.

Waiting until just before you land gives you more chances to extend your combo with more tricks as you descend, too :)

Holding the Ollie button also is effective if it is pressed on descent, but pressing it right before landing is the most consistent method. The mechanic does feel a little jank, and I'm not excusing that, but I think most of the hate for it comes from people who truly don't understand how it works.

If I try to manual out of a Big Drop, which is probably possible, sometimes the animation just cancels and sometimes I bail. Not sure how to pull that off.

If for some reason you're an old fan and don't believe me (lmao)
I can land them perfectly consistently. They break combo on land but do add an additional trick/multiplier to the string.

You can also just kinda tap the Ollie button instead of worrying about timing it, but that doesn't completely negate the risk.

Think of Big Drop indicator as a warning to brace for impact, and your Ollie button as bracing, and it makes a lot more sense. Just press Ollie right before hitting ground.

I have an actual hot take today.
The "Big Drop" mechanic, while not perfect, is overhated by some THPS2 fans who never learned how it works, and it actually adds a bit of depth and risk to combo play.
People think "big drop = automatic bail" but they're not hard to land when you get the timing down.

I reluctantly chose to move to a phone without a 3.5mm jack in my last switch (from OnePlus N10 5G to Samsung Galaxy S24 FE). Thankfully, it hasn't affected me much because my main headphones are hybrid and I have Bluetooth adapters for my players such as in my car, but it's definitely inconvenient.

People saying this isn't effective protesting are so wrong. This makes the fascists look utterly ridiculous. This is so much more effective than many forms of protest, and a lot less violent, too. I'm a fan.
