Places to sit on Nicollet Mall: 1. Peavey Plaza, lots of concrete 'benches", a few metal chairs, and the blue Adirondack chairs. One of my fave spots in the city.

I mean, I've purchased a $40 handmade winter hat at that corner, and $50 earrings for Christmas gifts there. The Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center; where all the 3 pm stabbings happen.

I know! If you're gonna pick a street corner to be racist-afraid of, that's not it. (And I'm disappointed in myself that this is what I'm choosing to focus on here.)

'"How do I decide to go on the corner of Fifth and Nicollet and risk someone being stabbed walking to their car at 3 o'clock in the afternoon?" he said.' 5th and Nicollet is the Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center. He can't even hallucinate a good stereotyped location, lol.

I'd love to see actual secure bike parking at the downtown library. I don't bike there because of that. Same at Midtown Global Market.

it's just a t-shirt, but honestly, I need the reminder. the back says "it will take all of us", and maybe that's what I need the reminder of.

i actually really love this, katie.

Aurin: The fact of the matter there is no playing dead in this moment. Governor has said Trump could be sending national guard into Minneapolis. Feds are racially profiling people. They don't even look at status. "I am exactly the leader you need to elect in this moment."

2 kinds of people: those who smile when they see it written on the sidewalk and those who don't.
the word SMILE! written in pink chalk on a sidewalk.

Next time someone notes that I look younger than I am, I'm gonna tell them that every time a driver almost hits me when I'm out on my bike, it takes years off my life. ALSO what is up with drivers doing that handwave/sheepish smile, mouthing "Sorry!" like that makes up for almost hitting a PERSON.

At my best, I do think about them as Nature's Traffic Slowing Devices, but not at _my_ bus stop, lol.

ok which mayoral candidate is gonna deal with the NE Turkey Gangs, and how they keep invading my neighborhood?

Chad wants me to turn the heat on. Or at least close the windows all the way.

Man, this fucking sucks. Another Stolen Bike Alert, Minneapolis:
imnotahrhitter.bsky.social
Well I know it's a longshot of course, but if anyone in the Twin Cities, especially bicyclists, see a silver Cannondale with Mechagodzilla stickers anywhere, please let me know, as they were stolen last night out of my garage.

Maybe I'll finally get some e-bikes now...once I secure things more lol

Stolen Bike Alert, Minneapolis: keep a watch out for it!

Can y’all please be on the lookout for my bike? Last seen in Elliot Park. It is a black Biria bike with red pedals and stickers of local news orgs on the bottom tube. It also has a Brooks saddle and adapters for Wolf Tooth pogies on the handlebars.

This is great news!

We won!

Following three weeks of legal proceedings and over five hours in court, the judge found Wayzata-based Minneapolis landlord John Wall in violation of the law on three counts, resulting in a $1,450 fine.

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

I'm curious to know why you are all for them. Is it the advancement in tech?

Christ, it took me way too long to process the '21st century' bit.

Oh, that's a great campaign message too.

I like that there's a variety of reasons to say no to Waymo: more cars on the road, can they even handle MN winter?, workforce implications, undercut mass transit, safety, general opposition to autonomous vehicles. It's the "What's Your No to Waymo?" campaign.

Well, here it comes: @toreyvanoot.bsky.social reports that Waymo has hired lobbyists in Minnesota and been talking to state lawmakers, looking for legislative approval to operate in MN

There once was a city.

Now it’s an abandoned suburban office park. With no public parks in the core its a sterile private/public “partnership.” The downtown council is in charge. The skyways hours are a mess. Crystal court, Peavy, Commons & Mill City are private spaces. THEY ruined downtown.

i took countless photos on a point & shoot digital camera from like 2003 - 2005 before moving to a DSLR. only dated things like political signs or cars or old business will give away the age
