So totally on brand. They're speed-running their quest to become this decade's Kmart.

Target's incoming CEO calls Minneapolis violence 'incredibly painful,' does not mention Trump or shootings by federal agents
More than 60 Minnesota business leaders, including Fiddelke, signed a letter on Sunday calling for an "immediate deescalation of tensions."

The intermission entertainers have more balls than any of the actual players. Ridiculous. The (near) deafening silence from Twolves players really sucks. Especially since, right now, they also suck complete ass on the court as well. Which seems fitting.

"Listen, we have killed and terrorized a LOT of Minnesotans in our time, so we speak from a place of authority when we say -- y'all are fucking outta control"
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara: "People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. The MPD went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn't shoot anyone ... this is not sustainable."

Really disappointed that this is all my employer is bothering to do in regards to the atrocities being perpetrated here. Total milquetoast bullshit.

Companies are too cowardly to acknowledge the human cost of all that is happening.
MINNESOTA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: “.. With yesterday’s tragic news, we are calling for an immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions.”

Was browsing my camera roll and came across some of the art we put on our driveway during the summer... reminding me to keep trying to be positive and bright for our kids. Show them brightness and how it will illuminate the darkness. Sounds trite, I know...but it's what I got right now 😕

Man the fuck up and start protecting your people. Tell your state police to start arresting these criminals. Mobilize the Guard and tell them they are to take NO orders from a demented tyrant who is executing innocents in the street.

You swore a fucking oath to the Constitution.
I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.

The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

Everyone on both teams should refuse to play. I'm a huge Wolves fan and watch nearly every game...but I have a really hard time giving two fucks about a goddamn basketball game when ICE is straight up executing people in the streets.
The Wolves are scheduled to host Golden State this afternoon, which means Steve Kerr is in town, one of the most outspoken guys in professional sports. A press conference with Kerr, Finch, Steph, and Ant refusing to play the game would be huge.

The irony is that I assumed if we got to the “show your papers/people getting kidnapped” stage I would leave the country and build a new life abroad. But morally I can’t leave my vulnerable neighbors to suffer alone. I try to remind myself many famous good figures in history were just regular folks.

Between being cozy with ICE and their anti-DEI stance they took a little while back, Target are working overtime to permanently stain their image and keep swaths of customers permanently away. I haven't shopped there in over a year, and plan to never do so again.
Outside the first of two Targets we occupied today, because Target is complicit with ICE.

Solidarity from New York City, Minnesota!

I'm not religious, but my gut tells me that when you're on the opposite side of massive amounts of religious leaders maybe, just maybe, you're the villains?
The clergy just keep coming to this anti-ICE protest.

Genuinely unclear where they all will go — it’s packed outside on the sidewalk already.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Stop with all the fucking shtick and sound bites and ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING TO HELP OUT YOUR CONSTITUENTS. Looking at you Walz and Frey and Klobuchar and all the other toothless, feckless officials full of words but no actions.

Within an hour of the 8th Circuit Court overriding the limit Judge Menendez had set on ICE to not use chemical weapons on peaceful observers/protestors.

Abolish ICE.
Welcome to Minneapolis. Our neighbors have witnessed too many war crimes at this point. Federal agents even left weapons on the ground.

The voice in the back of my head are arguing with each other over whether Noem/Trump confused this Portland with the one on the other coast or if they just confused Maine and Minnesota since they both start with the same letter.

In the back of my brain, I keep feeling like we're in our own modern version of the fall of Rome with our early middle ages on the horizon. I know it's probably not a unique (or even new) take, but it just sticks in my brain with every piece of local and global news I read.
