F*ck you, @nytimes.com. First for your venal obsequiousness to Trumpist thinking in devising the original headline. Second, for your cravenness in changing it in a vain attempt to obfuscate said obsequious venality.
The New York Times is going through some things, although not, regrettably, a woodchipper.

This morning I can see 67 votes to convict on a bill of impeachment.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 94th day out of the last 106.

12 days of work in 106 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.
This ⤵️looks like stony realism. Senate Rs assessing implications of Prop 50’s success & prospect of a gerrymandering arms race on ambitions of R electeds + grilling Trump tariffs received at SCOTUS. If the senators act on their read of the terrain, we may start to see a pullback from the brink
“.. upon returning to the Capitol, the senators made it very clear: They planned to blow Trump off.”

Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity
Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

The Mississippi state legislature begs to differ. 😏
Mike Johnson: "What happened last night is blue states and blue cities voted blue. We all saw that coming. And no one should read too much into last night's election results."

BREAKING: Starbucks workers have just authorized a massive strike.

Union Starbucks baristas voted to authorize the strike by 92%.

Now baristas in over 25 cities could launch an unfair labor practice strike on Thursday, November 13th.
Shame, isn’t it?
Republican Rep. Maria Salazar:

“Hispanics that helped deliver a tremendous victory to President Trump are slipping away…Last night, in New Jersey and Virginia, Hispanics swung more than 25 points to the LEFT”

Fossil fuel lobbyists are now talking gas up as a ‘green’ fuel.

To be absolutely clear, this is nonsense.

Coal full life cycle emissions: 800-1,700g CO2e/kWh

Gas full life cycle emissions: 290-930g CO2e/kWh

Wind power full life cycle emissions: 5-15g CO2e/kWh

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.
I didn’t know LR played an instrument in addition to his vocal work! Thx 😊
Such a good beat. And such as contrast to the sappy sentimentality of 1980s Lionel Richie…

It got drowned out in all the good news from last night, but Boston Mayor Michelle Wu became the youngest person to be reelected in the city's history.

She ran unopposed because her opponent--Patriots owner Bob Kraft's son--withdrew a few months ago after realizing he had no hope of winning.
This evening I just head KDH’s book talk. She spoke warmly & w/ admiration of ZM. In her remarks she drew parallels w/ how he focused on practical issues affecting people’s lives and the work she wanted to achieve in WH. The reaction of the crowd tonight suggests they ‘got’ the parallels.

The court ordered SNAP to keep running using emergency funds. But Speaker Mike Johnson shrugged: “It’s not as easy as hitting go-send on a computer.” Millions of kids, vets, seniors, and disabled Americans could go hungry for Thanksgiving while the GOP plays political games. #TruthbombTuesday

Thinking of all my trans siblings tonight who have had to endure months and months of hand-wringing over our lives being, supposedly, a dealbreaker for voters.
