Honestly, fuck these people. The party has been consistently groveling to never-Trumpers regardless of their politics, and it feels like they've resorted to a lot of mealy-mouthed platitudes to justify it. Simply "standing up for the Constitution" doesn't get shit done.
Raskin: We are a big tent. We must be a huge, vast tent. I say this is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene if she wants to come over.

What's more frustrating is that the entire political system needs to be massively revamped, and these people are trying to justify the worst parts of a bad system because of some imagined benefit.

If there's anything reliable in this world, it's that Fattman is hands down the shittiest and most despicable politician in central Mass.
The MA Senate voted 35-3 to combat the rise of politically motivated book bans.

This bill creates clear standards, protects librarians and school employees, enables authors to challenge bans of their work, and establishes important data collection.

I'd say the "wrong feelings" are "feeling like fighting for ACA just isn't worth it".
No one’s feelings are wrong. That’s not my point. We’re in a real battle, against a corrupt and malevolent foe, with huge stakes. We must win.

I literally cannot believe that any Democrat can look at their situation and believe that folding with little to show for it is the best strategy.
Just called my senators @gallego.senate.gov and @captmarkkelly.bsky.social telling them to vote no on any Senate deal that does not guarantee ACA subsidy extension and a "potential vote to extend" is a no-go. Also if they vote yes, I will gladly vote for any primary candidate that runs against them.

We just need to burn it all to the ground and start again without the billionaires and the losers.

Case in point in particular about inspirational candidates. Wilson is motivating voters because she's talking about doing things, while Harrell has been scrambling to pass in his homework at the last minute with a flurry of different announcements to make it seem like he gives a shit.

A lot of British + Commonwealth conservatives are probably going to turn hardcore small-r republican once Charles goes, if only because their loyalties were first and foremost to their generation and they'll just see the current heir apparent as a spoiled rich kid.
I honestly think Charles might be close to the end. William loathes Andrew and I would imagine he's put a lot of pressure on his father to deal with this so he won't have to when the time comes. It's "Either you do this now or I do it in a much uglier way when the time comes."

The goal should be to completely degrade the morale of any occupying troops. Shun them, refuse to serve them, make fun of them, and make sure they understand they aren't wanted, appreciated, or valued. Make them quit.

This is why in the long term secession is the only answer to this problem. Much as I'd like to have an imperial president that can sidestep a conservative Congress and cancel student debt, I do not want to deal with bullshit like this ever again.
Q: What did you mean when you said you're prepared to send 'more than the National Guard' into American cities?

TRUMP: if I want to enact a certain act, I'd be allowed to do whatever I want. The courts wouldn't get involved. Nobody would. I could send Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines -anybody I want

I don't think it's obvious to many people how much rot will need to be cleaned out once this idiot leaves office.
WHEN WILL IT STOP????

I don't know what's more ludicrous: that the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet are in charge right now, or that so many people believe they somehow know what they're doing.

It does parallel the state of the country that the top billed actor plays an older white dude that thinks he's the protagonist but is almost completely unnecessary to the story and most of the important and watchable story beats are from the fifth-billed Gen Z'er
One Battle After Another is the best film I’ve seen in a long time. Prescient, original, thrilling, intimate and hilarious. the actors are at the top of their game. It looks boldly at the current state of our country, keeping relationships small and specific. Plus it’s one hell if an action film.

I'll clearly articulate my position that Jeffries can go fuck himself.
Asked why he's refused to endorse Mamdani, Hakeem Jeffries replies: "I have not refused to endorse; I have refused to articulate my position"

It's rare that one event shows the breadth of idiocy from conservatives. The damage to a potential ally in Canada is stupid, provoking the bear for political advantage is stupid, and bending the knee as a Canadian Quisling over any issue is stupid.

lI feel like this is less of a problem of not sucking up properly to a wannabe US emperor and more that it was just a weird move from a stupid clown.
So…….you think @mark-carney.bsky.social might be wanting to have a little ‘chat’ with Dougie about his commercial that brought all trade talks to a screeching halt by the little toddler to the South? 🧐🤨

The really concerning thing is what happens after ICE is removed (if it happens). If you're planning to have a bunch of entitled people with paramilitary experience out in the community after being fired from the secret police, this will all just turn into future militia recruitment opportunities.
Six months after ICE apprehended 47 people, including nine kids, in Hays County, Tex., County Judge Ruben Becerra says DHS has ignored his attempts to get answers:

“We’re not told why they took them, and we’re not told where they took them. By definition, that’s a kidnapping.”

From what I've read, there have been parts of the White House that needed a LOT of upgrades.

However, a real estate magnate taking a wrecking ball to one of the most important historical buildings in the country without regard for its value is... well... on brand I guess.

I cannot believe that I'm actually glad that Farkas didn't come in second in this election.
Jeromy Farkas wins the closest ever Calgary mayoral race. 91, 065 (26.1%) compared to Sonya Sharp's 90, 480 (25.9%). A win by only 585 votes (0.2%). An incredible comeback (politically and personally) for the kid from Dover after his loss to Gondek in 2021.

I think there's a bit of irony with the Vancouver BC version being labeled "No Tyrants" instead of "No Kings".

Not because the Canadian assist is not appreciated, but because a lot more Canadians should be talking about becoming a republic. It's a super weird taboo topic in Canadian culture.

What should happen is that if the Democrats regain the Presidency in 2028, they essentially equalize the averages of payments from federal agencies and defund red states for a few years. That would be extremely funny, as these same folks would start screaming about the unfairness of it all.
More partisan “cost-cutting” from Vought — in cities where definitely NO Republicans live, work or spend money. 🤡

Enforcing noise standards with expensive equipment requiring a "budget action" when the City is pinching pennies on services and the State cannot fund its obligations to schools and fish barrier removal is just... well... a policy position I guess?
"I understand that SDOT has an enforcement role in noise...particularly in the rights of way think of stadiums, stadiums, street creatures, there's noise ordinance, ordinances. on the books.... Who's on First? No one knows. So I also intend to take some budget action on that to get more clarity."
