Or soldiers marching down the streets, dropping tear gas bombs from helicopters, for literally no reason at all.

So it's not quite as hard as growing up in the USA.

Abolishing stamp duty on its own is a massive gift to the well off - both directly and in raising house prices (and the govt can just raise thresholds to nullify it). We need a proper review of property/land taxes, including business rates and council tax to make them fairer and boost growth. #bbcaq

The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.

Today my daughter's preschool is holding a farewell assembly for one of her classmates whose mother has no choice but to self deport. The school is hoping it will be joyful in tone, so we might make this less upsetting for this 3 year old.

There's just no words for the uselessness of this cruelty.

If I criticise the current Trump administration I'm not anti-American. Equally if I do the same regarding the government led by Mr Netanyahu I'm not anti-Israeli. Presenters of #r4today are probably willing to boost the chances of Nigel Farage becoming PM because it would boost the ratings of this show. They know with their huge salaries that any financial pain would be borne overwhelmingly by poorer people and that their own lifestyles would be untouched.
