Named after my mother, it states the number of complaints a person makes is in inverse proportion to the number of things they have to complain about.

Trump makes the outrageous claim that “most” immigrants, which include over 25 million U.S. citizens, “are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.”

As insulting as the “deplorables” comment, and on Thanksgiving day no less.

I think it is 'excellent' that #r4today devotes its precious time to the 40th anniversary of Blind Date rather than in-depth coverage of Reform's links to Russian money or the Hong Kong fire toll.
November 28, 2025 at 6:48 AM
Nothing on the headlines about the Hong Kong fire but there is an item about it being 40 years since 'Blind Date' first started on UK TV! Dear god #r4today continues to get even worse.

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

What is wrong with the Hong Kong authorities arresting people in connection with the deadly fire there? Don't they know that they should follow the lead of the UK and have a long public inquiry followed by years and years of vacillation and delay before anyone is possibly held to account. #Grenfell

How would Emma Barnett and Justin Webb get by on their joint paltry £650,000+ salary from the BBC if they didn't have lucrative columns at The Times to supplement them? Think of the poverty they would have to suffer if the Murdoch clan didn't grease their palms! #r4today

It's amazing how Lineker (a sports presenter) was hounded out of the BBC for having thoughts, while a news presenter and commentator can publish unending pieces defending Trump, with no repercussions whatsoever. The double standard!

Will nobody think of the the top 1% of earners in the UK? Those #r4today presenters like Justin Webb struggling to get by on the pittance of £365,000+ from the BBC and the Murdoch cash for writing columns for The Times. Think of their suffering and weep!
November 27, 2025 at 9:38 AM
Presenters on #r4today are in the top 1% of earners in the UK based on their earnings from the BBC alone. However many of them top that up by writing columns for the right-wing owners and the right-wing editors of the overwhelmingly right-wing British press.
November 27, 2025 at 9:09 AM
I understand the reluctance of #r4today presenters to hold the overwhelmingly right-wing UK press to account as it would probably mean that the same presenters would lose their cushy 2nd jobs as columnists for the newpapers they review on the show www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...

Mr Robinson earns well over £410,000 a year-Why not employ 2 people with scientific knowledge about the climate emergency on £200k each to replace him? The BBC could save money and have those in place better able to quiz guests on the issue of the age. #r4today
November 27, 2025 at 8:54 AM
The issue of the age is the climate emergency but the overwhelming majority of presenters on #r4today #wato #bbcpm obviously haven't a clue about science or the scientific method. There should be pressure on the BBC to replace some of these people with those who can question guests knowledgeably.
November 27, 2025 at 8:51 AM
I look out of my window at the blocked drains and grass growing through the paving stones-The visible effects of austerity. But #r4today presenters have normalised those things not immediately visible-The disappeared services, the chances lost, the children growing up in poverty and the food banks.
November 27, 2025 at 8:43 AM
Hong Kong has launched an investigation into the fire there a day after it happened. Nearly 8.5 years after Grenfell the wheels of justice here roll on so slowly that they may as well not exist. The system is set up here to protect the powerful from responsibility for their actions. #r4today
