And every time I use the yellow emoji, I can't help but think of the racist historical idea that some people have "yellow" skin and all the connotations there. So, I don't know. Most of my white coworkers just use the default, so that's what I've been doing. Maybe I'm overthinking it?

I've heard the argument "I don't want to spend any extra time making sure my emoji is also white", which, valid. But my response is something like "why does everyone else (at least most folks at my workplace) have to change theirs, or feel like they should?"

As a corporate American, I keep thinking about the thumbs up emoji, and how you can change the skin color. I think the majority of white people just keep it yellow. But some change it, and I've heard good arguments for both. I just used it and I've having another internal debate lol

I will never, ever stop singing the praises of neighborhood bars within walking distance. There is nothing sexier than knowing that you can just walk 5-10 minutes there and 5-10 minutes back, no driving or parking or DD necessary.

Like...inclusive events have to be exclusive lol. You quite literally have to exclude some people if you want the people your event is actually designed for to be comfortable and happy. An event for trans people that allows cis people, for example, just became unsafe for trans people.

The issue with trying to include everyone all the time is that you make your event then unsafe or unwelcoming for the people it was originally designed for. An event specifically for femmes and thems that allows dudes is completely defeating its own purpose.

Like, there should totally be speed dating events for trans people, or even just transmascs. The solution is not to force ourselves into events for queer women/femmes/NB people. I just can't imagine a queer woman wants to show up to an event like this and be seated across from a man.

The "transmen" as one word is throwing me. Even autocorrect fixes that for you. Also, what happens when a masc dude with a beard shows up and says he's a trans guy? Does he have to prove it? And y'all are for sure going to lose it when a trans woman arrives who doesn't pass 100%.

Cis people: stop doing this dumb shit. This is not "inclusive". You are making it very clear that you only want people with vaginas to show up, regardless of identity. And nobody, cis or trans, should be reduced to their genitalia.
