Right, I’m normally an optimist, even when it comes to #CPFC , but I’m now very concerned about the rest of this season. Next Sunday has just become a real 6 pointer. I’m hoping the return to his former stomping ground will inspire Brenan Johnson. 🤞❤️💙🦅

Then let us pray that come it may,
(As come it will for a' that,)
That Sense and Worth, o'er a' the earth,
Shall bear the gree, an' a' that.
For a' that, an' a' that,
It's coming yet for a' that,
That Man to Man, the world o'er,
Shall brothers be for a' that.

Happy Burns Night. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

My friend's son was killed by an IED in Afghanistan. He was one of the young rising stars of the British Army. That Americans allow this stinking pile of excrement to travel outside their godforsaken country is a crime against humanity.
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

457 UK armed forces personnel died in Afghanistan during the 20-year deployment.
This is a fucking hideous thing to say. Even by his non-existent standards.

While I understand ‘this is just how it works’, Crystal Palace losing their best player, captain, manager & the Europa League in the eight months after their greatest day is a brutal reminder that football doesn’t allow smaller clubs to be happy for long.

The moral of Palace's demise? Smaller clubs can't have nice things

What Europe could do is threaten to boycott the World Cup. It won't. But that might actually work. Trump wants his big show.

There’s something gong round about posting from 10 years ago.
Well here’s my take on it.
Let’s hope for more of the same this afternoon. 👍🤞❤️💙🦅

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

One of the great moments in antifascist cinema history. Casablanca (1940). Patrons at Rick's Café drown out the Nazis marching song “Die Wacht am Rhein.” with a rousing “La Marseillaise”.
A scene in spirit for January 2026. (whatever the complexities of that French anthem today)

A reminder of what a pathetic but dangerous bully Trump is - and why the UK and EU need to stand up to him
Q: The premier of Greenland said today, 'We prefer to stay with Denmark.'

TRUMP: Who said that?

Q: The premier of Greenland

TRUMP: Well, that's their problem. I disagree with him. I don't know who he is. Don't know anything about him. But that's gonna be a big problem for him.

Congrats to Macclesfield's Silkmen, beating Crystal Palace in the biggest FA Cup shock of all time. Macclesfield was once the world's largest producer of finished silk, with 5,000 looms and 71 mill factories. Photo of Paradise Mill, now part of the Silk Museum.

Recommend watching 'FA Cup: The People's Story' on TNT tonight at 10pm. (I don't have TNT but somehow was able to stream on Discovery+).
Features a few finals over the years, including ours but also Everton, Sunderland, Liverpool (Hillsborough year), Chelsea women.

I cried at them all 🙄
