I don’t spend ALL my time reading books. I also spend plenty of time browsing libraries and used book sales, reading book reviews, listening to podcasts about books, talking about books, and thinking about what book to read next. It’s really a diverse set of interests.
“Oh wow, wasn’t traffic just horrendous this morning?” -everyone at work
“Oh really? Didn’t notice” -me 💅 🚴‍♀️
This is such a good book. Berenstain Bears are generally mediocre to bad, but this one stands out as brilliant.
My advice is to get the most heavy-duty one you can afford. We had to get rid of ours when the kids were 8 and 10 because they were too big for it, but they definitely would have still used it for another 2-3 years.
My condolences. Very sorry for your loss 💔
Oh noooo. It’s Saturday afternoon and everyone has plans outside of the house except me and the cat. Whatever will we do?
I work part time, and often feel pressure to be very productive on my days off to justify the income sacrifice. But today I rearranged my bookshelf (twice), baked cookies, watched a stupid reality show, and read. I think it’s ok to just exist sometimes.
I think my name (Angela) was already outdated when my parents chose it. I know a couple others my age, but certainly none under 40. I can’t imagine there ever again being a toddler Angela running around!
Actually now that I think of it, there was also a Cindy in my university program, also in her early 40s now.
I had a Cindy in my class, she was born in ‘84.
No a true millennial would have refused to accept the china in the first place or immediately donated it. Or is that just me?
A dedicated LEGO display hutch sounds amazing.
Very good points. I live in fear of drivers making an unexpected right turn while I’m travelling straight, so I’d rather be forced to wait behind. But I hear you, if everyone did things properly, it makes sense to keep the bike traffic flowing through the intersection.
If there is no physical divider for the bike lane, as a cyclist I personally prefer the design where there is a dashed line for drivers to move fully to the right before their right turn, but I think many fellow bike riders would disagree with me.
Drivers don’t have to look backwards, they use their mirrors and shoulder-check, just like they do for any lane change. Making a right turn on a red light in this scenario is dangerous, yes.
Here’s a beautiful example in my neighbourhood from this weekend.
The most dangerous part is the inconsistency. Pick one design and apply it everywhere, plus public education campaign to show everyone what to do.
If the bike lane line is dashed, then yes. If the lane is solid white or a physical curb then drivers need to yield to bikes going straight before their right turn.
When the solid white line becomes a broken line close the intersection, cars are supposed to enter it before their right turn (after checking to make sure they are not cutting of a bike, which is usually a missed step). In this case the line is solid so they should not enter the lane.
In many cases, the white solid line becomes a broken line close to the intersection. The car should enter and block the bike lane before their right turn. Of course, with a signal and check to make sure the lane is clear. A bike approaching after this waits behind. Solid line, don’t cross.
What I need is a way to convince my teen to use an umbrella. Showing up to school soaking wet from a 20-minute walk in the rain is apparently less embarrassing than holding an umbrella.
Example no. 7689 why I am scared to let my teen bike to school. Harrow sucks as a bike a route but it’s the only one 😞
Pokémon cards are my go-to. Chaotic good, but make it cute.
Yes I definitely knew that! I sewed a custom-sized bean bag to put in the pouch so I could cuddle with Elmo. Inspired by Beanie Babies no doubt.
I’ve had pickles on pizza from a place in Calgary. It was delicious!
They had really good books by the way. And I know the books wouldn’t come with the house. I do know that. And yet…
