And as always, you can look to local organizations to find ways to directly support causes you care about. This could look like mutual aid groups (check out www.mutualaidhub.org), checking in with your neighbors, sharing your unique skills, community service, running for office, and more

The No Kings organizers have highlighted the need to both block AND build: BLOCK by taking concrete action against authoritarianism NOW; and BUILD by building LONG-TERM organizing power.

I'll call out examples of both from the site in this thread (but please also check out the site!):

If you've been wondering "what's next?" after Saturday's No Kings protest... the organizers have shared a whole slate of next steps we can take, in order to build a durable movement to protect democracy and our communities through our everyday actions #NoKings

No Kings Day was one of the largest days of protest in US history. From deep red small towns to our largest cities, millions of people turned out to make it clear that the American people will not bow to fascism. #NoKings

If you're working on a local mutual aid project, an organizing project etc... Saturday will be a terrific recruitment day. If you attend one of the mobilizations, bring info about your work. Make sure it has contact info.

To everyone in PA, I know there is a ridiculous amount going on right now BUT, please take a minute (a literal minute) to contact our state reps about funding septa.

Transit is absolutely necessary for a functioning Philly, *and* for meeting climate goals.

Hi! Do you want to rip your face off over the constant attacks on science in the US? Here are some actions you can take! They require varying amounts of time, repetitiveness, and sticking your neck out, so hopefully you can find something in here that’s right for you:

I said it would get worse very quickly. By tomorrow we will have completed the most dangerous & frightening 24 hours thus far of Trump 2.0. Just to name a few:
1. Defiance of a court order by sending migrants to Sudan without due process (despite clear DP decision SCOTUS) & Dist. CT. order.

Trying to understand whether, why, when, and how to take a public stand? It's scary, and difficulty — particularly the how part. I found @philipncohen.com's recent book extremely useful in this regard, for social scientists and natural scientists alike.

To your question about my supposed fear of change: I am not afraid of change or sociotechnical innovation. What I am afraid of is how change and innovation take place under the conditions set by capitalism and a variety of other oppressive structures which developers refuse to recognize as salient.
