Sharing one of the most fun paintings I did this year for #ArtAdventCalendar Day 6 ❤️ This was inspired by a Lake Bemidji Common Merganser that was found with 76 ducklings a few years ago. I originally planned for 30, but decided 20 was enough!

Experimenting with watercolor on black paper by painting a deep sea jelly I saw at Monterey Bay Aquarium. It's tricky because colors can look vastly different when dried, so it's a lot more go-with-the-flow than my usual work.
