Really would love it if this was one of those times where they forgot to burn the redactions or used black highlighting or something equally silly.
Making a production in discovery that is almost entirely redacted is a popular way to say “fuck you”

I’m sure that what will really change opinion is an hour of grievance word salad with a sprinkle of shittiness.
President Trump will deliver a televised speech tonight that is expected to focus heavily on the economy, an effort to reverse declining public opinion numbers and the view even among some supporters that he has not lived up to key campaign promises.
Trump attempts domestic reset with White House address Wednesday evening
The president’s approval ratings reached their lowest numbers in late November. Even some supporters say he has done too little to improve their lives.

Sucks to be without power for sure. Sucks way more to have a wildfire tear through your community. I’m also glad my kids’ school was called off. Stay safe, folks!
While this sucks for a lot of people, I am really glad that we are getting strong messaging about this, and people are taking wind-power fire danger seriously.
NEW: Xcel Energy says it will preemptively shut off power to 50,000 customers in Colorado at 10AM due to extreme winds and fire danger.

Xcel now says similar conditions on Friday may result in some customers being without power for three days. co.my.xcelenergy.com/s/outage-saf...

The latest in a long list of “does expertise matter” inquiries. When is the answer not yes?

If you had a choice of a home designed and built by your doctor and an architect and contractor, what would you choose?
Not that you really need it in this case, but research says no.

We library folk do a good job talking about all the free services we offer, but I don’t see many of us talking about how libraries are one or the only places where you can use services without being advertised to.

This is incredible (good news too): “After a 40% fall in 2024 in battery equipment costs, it’s clear we’re on track for another major fall in 2025…The economics for batteries are unrecognizable, & the industry is only just getting to grips with this new paradigm”

Batteries now cheap enough to make dispatchable solar economically feasible
Energy think tank Ember says utility-scale battery costs have fallen to $65/MWh outside China and the United States, enabling solar power to be delivered when needed.

They had never seen anyone that young pepper sprayed.

What if the Democrats say, “Immigration is GOOD. We want to fix immigration by facilitating it. We want to welcome whole families for as long as they’d like to live here.”
I think it is theoretically possible that an election entirely about health care would be better for Democrats than one fought over immigration. I also think the chance that the GOP *allows* that is approximately nil, and so it behooves us to try and figure out how to fight on immigration as well.
there are pundits who will say that immigration is trump's strongest issue and that picking fights around immigration helps him on the margins. but i think this misunderstands the way public opinion works, as evidenced by trump's declining fortunes on his handling of immigration.

Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.

A friend of mine pointed out that you save yourself minutes at best. Are those minutes from your life worth the potential cost? I am not driving an ambulance. It’s going to be OK if I’m late.

So much reckless driving behavior is tied to anxiety. Treat your anxiety and see if it helps your driving.
