On this day in 1980 UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher made the defiant speech about expectations of an about turn on counter inflationary policies, “you turn if you want to. The lady’s not for turning”.

Aside from anything else, what I find depressing is that people with perfectly usable PCs are being encouraged to dump them. Terrible for the environment.

I'm not seeing any evidence of that from coverage I've searched. Enterprise level controls may be different. One thing is for sure, Microsoft is certainly making it harder to store locally, rather than using Cloud defaults.

That would seal the deal on me not using Windows again. It is none of Microsoft's business where I store my files, unless it's in the cloud and it would want to charge me for that.

Thanks, how does that work?

The umbrellas I've bought from James Smith & Son in London. Beautiful craftsmanship. They would last for life if I didn't keep leaving them everywhere.

Kemi Badenoch promises to abolish stamp duty. Hurrah. But where is the £12bn a year coming from?

So let me get this straight. Microsoft is shortly ending support for Windows 10 (my PC works well but doesn't support Windows 11) and is "inviting" me to pay for providing security updates for another year?

Watch Tesla Full Self-Driving v14.1 attempt to drive into a parking lot through the exit lane, and then randomly park in the lane, forcing the driver to take over.

Elon Musk, is this really the version which feels "sentient"?

NHTSA should ban it now.
