Even weirder now, is that the same Hercules is flying out off the coast, being followed by a Sikorsky HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter. Based on this and the other aircraft nearby, it's likely that a US naval force is currently setting up (for Venezuela?) in that area off the coast of Florida.

Been watching Flightradar due to the current provocations against Venezuela, and I've noticed some interesting things. Firstly, as you see below, there's an E-3C Sentry. Since last night, I've also seen a high altitude balloon, an MQ-4C Triton UAV, and a Poseidon P-8 plane all around Venezuela.

The really funny thing about this is that the DLP had previously been told explicitly about the need to follow the methodology as set out in the AEC's guide to registering a party, and they still submitted a non-compliant list
It's gone under the radar, but the DLP got its federal party registration application rejected by the AEC due to submitting a membership list with too many members on it. The AEC only allows parties to submit a list of up to 1,650 members; the DLPs had 2,521.

I have found something extremely interesting. A Syrian immigrant named Shewan Aueb was a member of the fascist New Guard in 1930s Australia, with his membership only being revealed after his house was set on fire by people attacking him for being a Guardsmen.

Unlucky (or lucky for the government perhaps) that a lot of polls are now out of field for the summer so we may not get much idea of impact (if any) of current travel rorts scandal. But I think we'll still get some more polls.

Horrible to see the devastation in Bondi this evening. Violent hate is despicable anywhere, targeting families celebrating a religious festival at the beach is unspeakable. It’s a dark day 😞

A new poll means a new update! As I discuss in the updated tracker, the Liberals are in a bad spot right now, and the polls make it clear things aren't going to get better (spoiler: 49% of people have never heard of Ashton Hurn).

Not only does NT have the longest-serving LOTO, it also has the longest-serving leader of a parliamentary party affiliated with the federal L/N Coalition: Lia Finocchiaro became CLP leader in Feb 2020

In Qld, David Crisafulli became LNP leader in Nov 2020. All others have changed leaders since 2022
Selena Uibo (15 months) is Australia's most senior Opposition Leader! Steven Miles (13 months) is second and all of the others have changed since this March!

Another small update tonight, as I have noticed that Labor announced their Mount Gambier candidate. I talk about that in the updated tracker, and have added all of tonight's news clips to the Tarzia news.

I keep finding New Guardsmen who are connected to the Labor party. The Guard's area commander for Katoomba in 1934 eventually became the local Labor party branch's secretary in 1944! What is with this Guard-Labor connection??

#history 🗃️
It only gets stranger from here. The ex-Police Sergeant turned New Guardsmen was actually the brother of leader of the federal Labor Party (for 6 years), Matthew Charlton. I'm unsure if this speaks to some insane level of sibling rivalry or what.

#history 🗃️
Just found out that a somewhat notable and decorated ex-Police Sergeant was actually a part of the New Guard. One newspaper described him as "the toughest man in the force", seeing as he had apparently been shot at least twice. Interestingly, no obituary mentions his time with the Guard.

Vincent Tarzia has stepped down as Liberal Leader in SA only 3 months from the election! That means its time for a new SA politics tracker update! There's also 3 new Greens candidates to discuss on there as well.

I can't see this going badly at all, especially when accounts of adults are banned/warned and are forced to give their face/ID to a company which 'claims' to not keep data. Going to be a complete mess.
