see this is a key factor in the 'Trump is funny' debate. this, almost certainly written by Miller, is psychotic. his off the cuff, unplanned remarks come off very differently
Trump: "Instead of pardons, some of my more enthusiastic staffers were already drafting the paperwork to ship Gobble and Waddle straight to the Terrorist Confinement Center in El Salvador."

All these dudes are whining with their massive platforms about how the wolves are ruining masculinity and then the next second dudes like Dave Portnoy are posting videos of themselves unable to use a hammer. What are we even doing here?

On top of the fact that the anti-wokes probably have less "guy hobbies" than the average dude. Like, what traditionally masculine thing do we think Barro or MattY does besides being performatively anti-woke? Can we imagine him fixing cars or shooting guns or woodworking?

it’s hilarious that anti-wokes think that Democrats wouldn’t stand behind the trans community no matter what when they clearly believe that all male Democrats are actually a secret third sex, Pussies

what if groverhaus were a boat
There’s a wild story playing out on Great Lakes ship watching and coastal Facebook groups right now.

There’s a guy with a homemade house boat who’s attempting to traverse the lakes.

The boat is called Neverlanding and it set sail from Windsor, ON. It appears he has 1-2 50hp motors.

Yeah I’m not sure Hegseth really thought through initiating a Mr. America competition with the combat pilot space commander with the martyr wife
Sen. Mark Kelly on MS NOW: "I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane. I've been nearly shot down multiple times … My wife, Gabby Giffords, meeting with her constituents, shot in the head, six people killed around her … We know what political violence is.  And we know what causes it, too."

I genuinely do not think it is possible for non marginalized people to uplift marginalized voices at least through something as crude as social media shares. I Basically never see someone share a marginalized perspective they disagree with, so then all you are doing is amplifying your own view.
But people like MRO are doing the whole "Listen 👏 to 👏 Palestinians" and presenting their most deranged poasters, kinda like the weird Hasbarah accounts who do the same thing with Jews, and the Jewish Voice you should Listen to ends up being Meir freaking Kahane ימ"ש

i think you get the right to call some of your detractors mentally ill after a guy who was banned from another website for threatening your life kills two people
They're not false. You very consistently call the people you disagree mentally ill, and worse. What do you think the "correct" reaction is supposed to be when many of these people are trans, or Black? Why do you think you are entitled to indulge in this behavior?
November 25, 2025 at 6:55 PM
tbh “how dare other people want to live differently from me” is one of the defining neuroses of our times, more obvious and dangerous in the perpetual conservative freakouts about the decline of masculinity or the existence of other cultures or the ability of other people to dislike them
i don’t think they’re being insincere in saying they want rights, but they want trans liberation, in this case, to mean “free access to healthcare and social acceptance, but also my subculture must remain dominant in the community”, because they cannot imagine others wanting different things

i have agreed with stancil and i have disagreed with stancil. he has sharp elbows. but the accusation that he is a raging transphobe is not connected to reality. and the weaponization of "i'm listening to trans people" to smear someone because you disagree about fucking econ polling is disgusting
No, I do not “pick on” trans people, I have never done anything like this. And frankly, I think the willingness of some people to completely invent accusations of transphobia in the desperate search for a cudgel against ideological opponents suggests they don’t really care about transphobia
Listen dude, you can try and ride for this guy all you want, but the trans userbase of this platform fucking hates him because he picks on them. I'm going to listen to the trans people I know who are telling me he's bad. Plus I've been in these threads and seen it

And the real answer being offered is not the fancy one, but simply, "My dear Thomas, this isn't *Spain*! This is America!"

And that answer isn't a very good one.

Personally, I would very much prefer our politics stay law and not become history, but it isn't up to me, now is it?

We know this is a bid for authoritarian governance and at this point it is clear it is failing

We know in other countries, such failures generally end with "and then he fled to Russia" or "and then he went to trial" or "and then he and his entire family were murdered."

Why would we be different?

I think the cognitive error here is what I am going to call - from A Man for All Seasons - the 'This Isn't Spain!' fallacy: the assumption that some special forcefield enforces the regularity of your country's politics, so that things that happen elsewhere 'cannot happen here.'

At 10 over 75? Non-zero chance his 'trial' is a note read aloud next to a burn pit.

You know the joke that in some extreme circumstances you 'stop being biology and start being physics'?

There is a point where your politics stop being law and start being history. It is not a good place to be.

The problem with this article is they asked too many lawyers and not enough historians.

As a historian, I'd say the legality of Trump's immunity and pardons depends on how he leaves office.

At 40 over 55 approval? He's immune.

At 25 over 65? He's probably not immune & self-pardons aren't legal.
