My Commodore 64 Ultimate also arrived in time for the holidays. Loved the packaging and the manual is great. The machine itself is beautiful and feels well made. Looking forward to hooking it up once I’m better. #C64U #Commodore

Saying it again, anthropomorphized "chatbot" user interfaces to LLMs should be illegal.

There's zero reason these interfaces have to be like this—other than companies making people addicted to them.

This really is such an amazing story. The fact that they got it running again is fantastic. This sort of archival work is so important right now as all the gains of the last 50 years are, well, aging out.

Thanks to some good friends keeping eyes out at ewaste, I ended up with this Tricaster Pro 2.0 which is built on a Core 2 Shuttle machine. Because of course I did.

The board had blown caps so I swapped with my working XP Shuttle (I have Plans™), hit power, and it came to life! Kinda.

Along with a bunch of other fun objects, you can see two pieces from my collection: an Orao computer logic board and the PCB from an Iskra ETA telephone!
