When someone manages enough incredible performances for three careers, it's hard to say if that makes losing them early easier or harder

Catherine O’Hara was such an incredible talent, one of those comic figures who was simultaneously hilarious and breathtaking, often in the same scene. Perfect screwball presence.

Oh, no. One of the absolute greats: she was such a delight in everything she did. A treasure, gone too soon.
Breaking news: Catherine O’Hara, the actress and comedian who delivered deliciously silly performances in movies such as “Beetlejuice” and “Home Alone,” and gained a new generation of fans as Moira Rose on “Schitt’s Creek,” has died.

This is a very powerful video from comedian Josh Johnson. Not just because what he says that's meaningful. But because it shows an emerging trend that high profile people have finally started speaking up, despite concerns it might alienate their followers.

It is time to choose sides.

Pro wrestling is, again and again, a microcosm of the world we live in.
Wrestling criticism has been undermined by the legion of people who desperately want to be friends with the wrestlers. They'll defend any wrestler in any way in hopes of gaining their favor. People saying "Cleaner I got this" but seriously.

As a Canadian, what I've learned so far:

- Minnesotans are very nice and VERY organized
- Mainers are aggressively xenophobic but in a way that lCE will not like
- Philadelphians crave the blood of their enemies
- LA is ground zero for chaos tactics that never lose
- New Yorkers love gay hockey

noticed a trend this week where both the right and some liberals have been like "just realized the left actually means what they say about stuff"
James O’Keefe responds to a comment

“Figured they (ICE protesters) were being paid…”

O’Keefe:

“No, it's more terrifying than that. It's not transactional.

They actually believe in their cause.

That truth is going to be hard for most people to understand or accept.”

One of the more depressing parts about social media (apart from the rest of it), is how even the most ostensibly humanist of people (read: white, usually cis, often male) tend to fall victim to gamification or binary thinking they’re opposed to when “the other side” & “the other side” alone does it.

A drawn image of Palestinian journalist Anas al-Sharif wearing a Press vest and holding a microphone, and Alex Pretti wearing a hat and using a phone to document what they’re seeing with the words “Where have we seen this before?” next to the drawn portraits.
We demand justice for Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse federal agents shot as he protected his neighbors in Minneapolis. In the same breath we demand for justice for Anas al-Sharif, a 28-year-old Palestinian journalist assassinated by an Israeli airstrike for telling the truth about genocide in Gaza.
