What’s going on here, precisely?

Because if you remove Israeli exceptionalism as the doublethink nonsense that it is, it starts to look a lot like racism

That’s what a large part of our parliament and media is hiding behind.

And I’m calling it out

I love living in a country where the law about what bathroom I can use is genuinely UNKNOWABLE, it’s like something from a Joseph Heller novel
This is 100% correct. Including as to the chaos the Gender Critical Ideological Movement so beloved of Labour has now descended into as their facade of respectability crumbles like the Berlin Wall.

A good summary thread. Here’s the thing: if he’s nominated, Susan Collins is going to say she’s running against a Nazi tattoo guy. And then she’s going to win.

It couldn’t be easier for her, because any swing voter, people who are used to voting for her, wants to think of themselves as not Nazi.
1. Graham Platner is an oyster farmer and Marine Corps veteran who’s running for the United States Senate in Maine. He’s trying to knock off Susan Collins. He’s presented himself as a common-man candidate who stands against oligarchy, genocide and the oppression of the little guy.

Last month, playing tape of Charlie Kirk's words was enough to get people fired for the new category of anti-Kirkist hate speech.

This month, playing tape of Ronald Reagan's words is enough to spark a presidential tantrum and diplomatic breakdown.

it seems to me that there is a group of people who think that being like trump means less "doing harm to everything" and more "being rude about it"

primary your democrats until they fight. and never stop doing it.

Takeaways:

1. Despite outsized uncritical platforming, Reform - the party on every reply guy's lips - lost to Plaid Cymru
2. PC now has more MPs than Reform, so covering the later over the former is bias
3. High turnout beats facsism
4. Labour is washed

This piece focuses on how many elites have bowed down in the face of Trump’s revenge tour. But it fails to give a sense of the many ways Americans have fought back. There’s little about people in cities opposing ICE. No Kings gets only a sentence followed by a mention of Vance speaking to troops.
This, from Ed Luce, is such clarity on what our current crisis has in common with the War on Terror and the Great Recession: the elites suck at assessing the real risks to their comfort.

And they'd rather go down with Trump than be caught opposing him.

Shame on BAE - it made record profits from conflict in Gaza and Ukraine while grounding aircraft essential to delivering food aid. There is no excuse for making more money from conflict while giving less to those in need because of conflict.

this is the telling thing about all the billionaire hysteria

they would literally rather set more money on fire propping up the most uncharismatic sex pest who ever lived than they’d pay in additional taxes

these are not serious people
