holly also has short spiky leaves and mistletoe has long, rounded leaves! also a fun fact, the act of kissing under mistletoe has its roots in the norse myth of baldr's death and resurrection, and was popularized in the victorian era when christmas was reframed into a more family oriented holiday :D
