1000% why if you want to support a writer/author buy their book and/or request it at the library.
EVERY little bit counts toward the success of that book and the author getting another book deal

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I know some folks in publishing (be it writers/editors) thought it was rude to for an audience member at a conference to straight up ask GRRM when he was finishing Winds of Winter and if not could someone finish it for him…

Nuzzi as a teen was a victim of an older man who should’ve known better. After that she made choices to get ahead very cynically.
To make her a perpetual victim now, disregards the efforts of victims who experienced the same but worked to build a life and career of integrity.

Let me clarify here because I didn't mean this as an attack, in all of the discussion about where Nuzzi has been this piece at least acknowledges that she isn't trustworthy as a journalist. But, it is part of a larger body of conversation where Nuzzi is being slowly shifted to victim status
i mean no disrespect, but i essentially call for her to never work as a journalist again in this piece, so it feels weird to lob this criticism at my piece.
