I will write a note *anywhere* just to remember a good line before my restless brain carelessly tosses it out. In this case it was on a partial piece of paper from a calendar on my desk that had jigsaw-shaped pieces for each day of the year.
(And I ended up using this line, so yay.)

She calls this “creative nonfiction”; it is not. And the fact that not every reader even understood it was fictional means something in the presentation of it went horribly wrong.
I was so impressed with this story about measles in the Atlantic -- the depth of reporting it would take to weave in all these details so fluidly.

My understanding is that Romeo & Juliet is a black comedy, not a serious tragedy.
You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).
