Sci-fi fan who loves contemplating the future and admiring the past. I've been writing since I was 11 and am now the proud author of the 10 Cent Universe, a macrocosm of genre-bending book series.

I also make chili.

Hello! I'm the author of the "10 Cent Universe", a sci-fi macrocosm of genre-bending stories. "The Starship Australis Mysteries" follows a disgraced detective on a generation ship, while "Gunslingers of Gaea" is a western series on a new planet orbiting Tau Ceti. Lots more books/series on the way!
Heavy into revisions on "Easy As It Gets", book 4 of my #hardboiled #scifi #noir series. Really, the title applies, not only to Tom's struggles, but my writing the damned thing as well.

I'm getting there; I'm getting there... 🪐📚💙

I've always been a bit of an astronomy dork (nerd implies far too much knowledge) and dreamed of one day seeing the Aurora Borealis. I know it's even more spectacular in the north, but seeing it at all from Kansas is a dream come true!

Woke up with an alcohol-free hangover. Splitting headache, stiff back, eyes like mothballs. Took 2 ibuprofen with meds. Eating leftover spaghetti and gulping coffee for breakfast.

Why does getting old feel like the opening of a noir hardboiled-detective novel?

Any recommendations from the BookSky community? Who's reading what for #Noirvember? 🪐📚💙
Paperbacks of my #hardboiled #detective series with the new covers arrived! I couldn't be happier with them. The artist (Driope Project) did a fantastic job on the art.

What are you reading to celebrate #Noirvember? Below are my favorite #scifi cross-genre reads. Add your #noir favorites!

What is this? A starship for ANTS?! How can they be expected to boldly go where no one has gone before if they can't even fit inside the ship? #startrek #scifi #lego

Coherence was fantastic! Exciting news to hear a sequel may be in the works.
If anyone is interested in the sequel to COHERENCE, we finally landed on a story worthy of the mission. Unless the actors revolt, we will probably do it just like the first one, where they know their own character details, but don't know what the other actors are going to say or do. Like real life.

Went to see #BlueMoon tonight... wow! Fantastic performances all around, and Hawke was phenomenal. The script by Robert Kaplow (a high school teacher!) was witty, fun and heartbreaking. This was easily my favorite #movie so far this year!
Looks like 2025 is Ethan Hawke's year to shine. I've been really enjoying "The Lowdown" and "Blue Moon" looks fantastic! I'll pretty much watch anything with Andrew Scott in it anyway. Will I finally make it out to the theater for a non-horror movie?

Took the family camping in western Kansas this past weekend. The Milky Way was so bright! Both my city kids were in awe.

I've heard people say looking up at the stars makes them think of how small and insignificant humans are.

When I look up, I think of all the amazing possibilities open to us!

Well, it's Wednesday, but I'm making #sundaysauce anyway. Anyone have a special #tip? I like to roast my veggies to bring out their sweetness before adding them to my #marinara!

"One of the most valuable lessons I learned from Elmore Leonard!" I ejaculated.
"Damn right," he behemothed hoarsely.

Share a cartoon from the past that kids today probably never heard of.

(I still have a box of these toys stuffed in my closet, much to my wife's chagrin.)
