It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

And if your autistic person has a communication disability, this dynamic may be behind their "behaviors."

Since starting at my job last July, I’ve been on them about the fluorescent lights being inaccessible for a lot of us and the autistic kids. In Nov I helped raise $5000 for new lights. Today they are being replaced with warmer tones!!! 🥰
