anyway my point is not to be pedantic, it's to say that kosovo is a de facto and more or less de jure independent country today not bc the serbs "got over it" but bc the international community decided that the serbs weren't allowed to rule it anymore, and have stuck by that decision

I worked in Kosovo in 2002-3 and when someone made a reference to ‘89 you had to check if they were referring to 1989 or 1389.
