🚨 Urban Stats 30.0.0 🚨

Added international weather data to urban stats!

Also: added minimum daily temperature averages (and averages by season); seasons now represented by months not astronomical seasons.

You can now create global good weather maps!
Lmao on cue he's qrting me to say he never said to move to Cincinnati (technically true, he only implied it by saying that problems in major cities don't matter because housing prices are lower in places like Cincinnati). Never change

Bluesky seems to have a lot of that anti new atheist ideology where you do the 90s lib pluralism that led to the RFRA and pretend the many negative consequences of this ideology are outweighed by the fact that a few prominent aughts atheists were about as racist as a typical centrist pundit
November 25, 2025 at 6:01 PM
I will not let being mad at random liberal pundits sap anti-transphobia's political capital

We've seen what happens when you let accusations of bigotry be abused for unrelated political issues, it's not good folks. Keep the critiques narrow

The fact that both Eric Adams and Adrienne Adams were secret nimbys, not looking good for our goat John Quincy πŸ˜”
November 25, 2025 at 5:58 PM
That makes his politics read as completely inscrutable to anyone who's not terminally online in the specific way he is. Like "staunch Democrat who's biggest thing is defending the current economy in late 2025" has got to be like 10 people max
November 25, 2025 at 5:52 PM
I mean this is wrong in a very idealist sense, is what I mean. It's just his ideals are shaped by Twitter beefs he's in too deep on instead of old books or one bad experience with a landlord
November 25, 2025 at 5:48 PM
He is not in fact a pragmatist. He's spent the last year continuing an argument that the economy is fine under Biden despite the political valence of that having completely flipped and the argument being completely unmoored from any strategic goals

Arguably you could say his takes on how you should move to Cincinnati are transphobia in practice but like that definition makes like 50% of urban liberals transphobes and imo dilutes the definition. He probably would respond saying you could also move to MSP
November 25, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Stancil isn't a transphobe, he beefs a lot with trans people because he beefs a lot with everyone. He's never walked away from a single argument in his life. Even when he's doing an extremely dumb argument like the housing stuff I do have to respect the hater energy
No, I do not β€œpick on” trans people, I have never done anything like this. And frankly, I think the willingness of some people to completely invent accusations of transphobia in the desperate search for a cudgel against ideological opponents suggests they don’t really care about transphobia
Listen dude, you can try and ride for this guy all you want, but the trans userbase of this platform fucking hates him because he picks on them. I'm going to listen to the trans people I know who are telling me he's bad. Plus I've been in these threads and seen it

Simultaneously true that everyone who voted trump to avoid a Kamala war is the dumbest person ever and that Harris probably should've not done all her messaging assuming it was 2004 and everyone thinks the Democrats are implicitly surrender monkey hippies who don't do wars
November 25, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Yes but like even that 95% are pretty big. Median farmer household had a net worth of $1.4 million, and if trends have continued from 2004 (last year on this PDF I've Googled, the 75th percentile is 3.5x that, so $4.9 million)

Family farm and big ag aren't incompatible! A lot of large corporations are run by families
November 25, 2025 at 4:57 PM
It would also really annoy them and they voted cuomo in the general

Honestly like everyone always gets so mad at baptisms for the dead and it's like "ok but you are not a mormon. You think that's nothing. Why are you mad about nothing"

The main problem is gamers aren't suffering enough

Like 50% of residential water use is lawns lol

Like belief in the spiritual power info ouija boards is possibly the closest analogy to falling for a chatgpt religion that predates chatgpt. Just total slop spirituality for people who don't seem particularly interested in examining their more esoteric beliefs at all
November 25, 2025 at 6:27 AM
ok like obviously the chatbot didn't help but this person started out believing that a board game from the same company that makes monopoly lets you communicate with dead people
I'm literally just living a normal life while also experiencing a theophany via communication with the satellite called VALIS.
November 25, 2025 at 6:25 AM
I mean yes but like even within that context water is not scarce and datacenters are not using much water
November 25, 2025 at 6:21 AM
Yeah honestly I don't get this at all. Water is simply not a particularly scarce resource and datacenters don't actually use that much of it
You can actually see the effects on your power bill but people are obsessed with the water angle for reasons I don’t understand
November 25, 2025 at 5:34 AM
Not as good as my strat 😀 bsky.app/profile/kavi...
I would totally win an interview with isaac chotiner. Id literally just respond to every question with an ad for a different service and collect that sweet sweet revenue

You absolutely need to change this headline. It's unacceptable and disrespectful to the people harmed by the pollution.

This article itself makes it clear that the water pollution linked to cancer and miscarriages is coming entirely from nitrate pollution from farms.

The disappointment here has absolutely nothing to do with his role as mayor! It's about his choice to optimize being mayor over being the leader of the socialist movement in the US
