EXCLUSIVE: 100 days of Kavanaugh stops, the justices who silently allowed them, and a bill to change that.

The Shadow Docket Sunlight Act is being introduced on Wednesday. And, Justice Kavanaugh still isn't saying if he's having second thoughts on his September opinion.

Not something I have standing to do anything about, but posting for Oregonian friends.
Oregon has a rare program that helps people get jobs when they leave prison.

It's made a big difference.

But budget cuts are threatening to end the program, & lawmakers are failing to act to fix it. NEW, check it out: boltsmag.org/oregon-priso...

Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.

3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.

4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.

It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

Story to come.

To that I would also add some pretty masterful work to bring the Epstein files back as an issue for Congress and keep them centered in the national news, which has also almost entirely been House Dems' doing, led by the Oversight minority and Robert Garcia

I don’t even know what to make of this level self-delusion, cognitive dissonance and moral cowardice

So far Zack Polanski is the only political leader of a mass membership party to come out in support of the hunger strikers. Meanwhile the Justice Secretary refuses even to reply to MPs demanding an urgent meeting to avert what could well be the tragic deaths of unconvicted prisoners. Shameful.
Solidarity with the hunger strikers.

It is an egregious violation for them to be held on remand - without trial or conviction.

All for protesting against a genocide. Shameful.

Thank you to everyone who has shared this. The hearing is over for today. DHS has filed a motion to pretermit (end Guan's asylum application in the US) and have him sent to Uganda - where he'd be at risk of being sent to China. The hearing to decide that will be held 12 January.
In late 2020 a Chinese man called Guan Heng travelled to Xinjiang with our BuzzFeed map of detention facilities to provide ground truth for our work - he provided the first corroborating evidence for many sites.

He escaped to the US - then ICE detained him.
